how does it compare?

i played the dreamcast version for a long time and then i moved on to xbox and that was fun intill all the acton replay duping and then i went back to the roots of the game on nitendo and from what i have seen they are all very good games but the one thing that always pulls me away to bigger games is that PSU is and all the tittles before have all been kinda repeditive.

but now there trying to compeat with the big runners like Spellborn and Vanguard which i think are good tittles and right now i think that they would be more fun to play because PSU is not a big enough game with enough things to do in it.

what they need to do is sit down and come up with a new comcept

same worlds with better questing, graphis, CLOTHING lol and just make it apeal to a bigger genre

I don't think you can really compare PSU with any other MMOs out there at this point.  It is pretty much strictly a button-mashing game.   It is more arcade-like than strategy-like.   Initial problems with logging in and actually getting the program to run aside though it isn't too bad of game if you want something to play without having to really think on any deep level.

I think the content will end up being a little more at the start then PSO with all added content or expansions ever had and they are planning on adding more, but it still wouldn't be close to the content of some of the big world exploring MMO's.  It still is a breath of fresh air and alot of fun and I don't imagine it getting repetitive anytime soon for me, but once it does maybe something better will be out.

well, I didn't get to play for long, and it wasn't my own character. But if its anything like PSO:BB, then it actually DOES require quite some strategy, unless you have godlike gear. In PSO:BB, a normal monsters hit can easily take away 1/3rd or half of your hp away in one NORMAL blow.

You'll need a bit of strategy and twitch to do well. Some monsters can really hurt you if you're not careful esp if they do their special attacks and you got hit by the brunt of it.
