Why is there and Offical were angry with SOE thread???

I dont understand why this thread is in this game forum in the first place. This is not an SOE game, as SOE has nothing at all to do with the development of this game. So why is this thread in here? And why does it have a sticky? And further, why is there not a thread in here titled Official Were Happy with SOE thread like there is in the EQ2 forum which was started by PlanoMM. EQ2 is a fantastic game, one of the best fantasy games on the MMO market to date. Why are there former players from SWG coming in here complaining about SOE, this is Vanguard, this is not SWG, this is Sigils game this is not SOEs game. That is what the SWG forums are for, if you want to whine about SOE go to SWG and whine. Vanguard is not SWG, EQ2 is not SWG, if you dont like what happened to you in SWG then go and cry there about it.
No offense to the SWG vets, I understand your dislike of SOE, I am not a big fan of theirs myself, I played SWG from Day one, and was screwed over by the SWG dev team since the game was launched, but really its been a friggn year, and everyday it is the exact same thing with you guys, whan whan whan about SOE, I dont care about SOE, I dont care about SWG, I care about Vanguard, I care about what Sigil is doing with Vanguard, what features they are going to have it, how the game is going to play, that is what I care about, and it is also the reason why I am in the Vanguard forum. When I care about SWG then I go to the SWG forum, thats what it is there for. This is totally BS. Bring it on down now.

The point of the sticky was to prevent the constant spam of hatred towards SOE. Thats why it is the official "We're Angry About Soe" thread. The official part was not to offend people like you but to give a realm for people who actually do hate SOE.
That thread has no relevance to SWG whatsoever unless people in there are actually talking about SWG, but the thread itself was NOT made for people from SWG. Please stop being angered by things that are completely irrelevant and should not be whined about. If you hate SOE, more power to you, if you don't, more power to you.
There is no reason for people to be soooo upset that they need a sticky. SOE is only co-publishing this game with Sigil, and Sigil is the sole developer with ownership of the intellectual property rights that they bought from Msft.
SOE, even if they really wanted to, can't, modify, add, or remove anything to do with Vanguard: SoH. Only Sigil can do that, and I'm sure Brad (the CEO of Sigil and co-creator of EQ) knows that if they do anything SOE says that the community will tear down the realms pixel by pixel ( :P ).
jk about destroying the world, they will just destroy Brad.
Personally, I don't like the sticked thread, as people tend to ignore it as background noise, and the issue of SOE's trackrecord needs more visibility that than.
SOE is the co-publisher of Vanguard. That makes their trackrecords as a developer relevant. Maybe SWG is a good game now, maybe it isn't. That's not the point. The point is SOE violated the most sacred principles of MMOs effort=reward. SOE completely invalidated the in game achievments of their current players that they thought were too "hardcore" in order to try to make the game more accessible to a wider audience and sell more boxes.
If a developer is willing to do that, nothing you ever acheive in their game is safe. If your not assured of the reward for your acheivment, why try to acheive anything? If you aren't going to acheive anything in a MMO like Vanguard, why not play Second Life instead.
Regardless how SOE and Sigil spin the relationship, SOE has money in the game. With investment comes influence, even if its just threatening to cease providing server space, if Sigil doesn't do what it wants. SOE has proved they are willing to screw of the players of niche game. Vanguard, we hope, is going to be a niche game. It will appeal to the hardcore MMO players.
From what I read about Vanguard, and I will readly admit I don't follow every detail, it will take a very long time to reach the top level and get the best gear, especially if you are a casual player. Imagine in 2 years, you have just climbed your way to the top of the pile, and Sigil annouces a change to the way XP is granted, and what took you two years, can now be completed in two months. They do this to make the game appeal to a wider audience. Players that haven't dealt with SOE deserve to know what they are getting into.
You are telling me you aren't at least nervous about SOE forcing Sigil to screw you over in order to sell more boxes? Now maybe for you the potential fun of Vanguard holds is worth the risk the SOE will force Sigil to screw you over. For me its certainly not. Regardless post like, and the offical thread, are important so that potential players of Vanguard can make an informed decision. Don't deprive the right of other players to make an informed choice just because you have made the decision that its not worth the risk.

There is no reason to bring this fight to the VG boards. Keep it on the swg boards where it belongs.

For those who don't know, Blazin is what they call a subtle troll. You never really know when to take him seriously (mainly because of the "Bring it on down now",purple font and stupid sig stuff). I am usually more amused by his attempts at trolling than angry. I actually believe that there's a good chance that he's an intelligent human being that's just having a little fun at all of our expense (you know even a 13 year old would eventually get tired of the humor behind "Bring it on down now"). Unfortunately there was nothing subtle about this particular troll, so maybe I'm wrong.
Greatness is difficult to appreciate from close up. The great mountain on the horizon is only the ground when you are standing on it.
And I for one disagree with you. It keeps the hatred in one place and people are certainly entitled to their opinions. SOE is reaping what they sowed. And Vanguard bought into the SOE bandwagon, so of course there's going to be flack from it.
The thread should stay.
Never be afraid of choices. More choices are always good things.
