Staff, or fans of SOE keep blanking the SOE Wikipedia section named 'Controversy'. This is most frustrating. Before they just blanked it, but have now used the 'it is not cited' trick.
Now we all know SOE have been embroiled in controversy within the community, especially of SWG. But i need CITED, FACTUAL references to defend this position.
I have seen many magazine articles in paper games magazines about it. We dont need to 'prove' sony is wrong, just prove that there is controversy surrounding their decsions.
So, sources from bbc.co.uk, gamesindustry.biz, proper newspapers, games news sites etc need to be found. Forums are unlikely to be good enough.
WikiP is about the truth, not the sanitised corporate truth these guys want to portray.
Please help, just post decent sources here

What Wkipedia says about SWG and SOE ,
"SOE released Star Wars Galaxies in 2003, which saw rapid growth as expected. Bruce Woodcock of MMOGCHART.COM estimates that SWG reached nearly 300,000 subscribers within the year, but has not grown significantly since, as of August 2006 it had fallen below 100,000 subscribers worldwide. Since then, SOE has released three expansions for Star Wars Galaxies, "Jump to Lightspeed" which released in October 2004, "Rage of the Wookies" released in May 2005 and "Trials Of Obi-Wan" in November 2005"
No mention of SOE decisions to change the game twice with the CU and the NGE? The following had been white washed to match the picket fenced minds of SOE.

Get all the info you can and save it to a file. Then write a script that loads up the page every ten minutes, erases it, and reposts the truth. That way it's always fresh and consistent. If they erase it and post their crap, it's gone and replaced with the truth. I'm sure they'll try again and again but eventually they'll give up.
I wouldn't worry much though, I'd think anyone that knows what and/or how to use wikipedia has probably heard of what's happened with this game. Now, if SOE started advertising and promoting lies, then we'd have a fight on our hands, but no capital to fight it with.
People hate seeing these...lol the NGErs are just pulling hair when crap like this gets out. Makes them look --- well, like they do I guess.
I just have to think that sooner or later all people will see it for what it is, not what it was supposed to be.

Oh yeah, total desaster.
Starwars Galaxies, An Empier Diveded, That's what it says on my box anyway.
You'll never get past Wikipedia's intellectual snobbery and Elitist BS. Don't try.
A few months ago someone tried to put an unbiased account of what had happened with SOE's varies games. Especially the fiasco with SWG. The issues are a matter of public record. Chronicled in several online gaming sites as well as in the previously posted link (see one of the posts above).
An editor for Wikipedia, some woman who's name I forget deleted, then when called on the issue called people whiners and losers for posting such inflamitory and controversial remarks.
Wikipedia, while a good resource for some things is NOT a good resource for all things. Simply because of it's own hypocrisy.
If you can get an account of what happened to SWG posted and it stays (good luck) I will be impressed. To much happens behind the scenes there in my humble opinion to ever have unfiltered information.
Anyhow, good luck on your efforts and I hope you accomplish your objective.
Not sure if all these help but im using most these for my site im making and im going through the links myself and looking for contraversy posts. Hope theres some ammo here but once i get my site up SOE will have more then wikipedia to worry bout...

Raph Koster left SOE
http://www.raphkoster.com/2006/03/24/leaving-soe/
http://www.gamespot.com/news/6146555.html
"There's no star system Slave I can't reach, and there's no planet I can't find. There's nowhere in the Galaxy for you to run. Might as well give up now."
Boba Fett
"There was a computer game, the UI was changed, people got into a hissy fit"
To some, change of buff duration presents a gameplay breaking design change that violates Koster's vision along with severe violation of ethical code of game design. But it's all in the eye of the beholder.
Businessman: "The periodic actualisation of product in 4th phase of lifecycle resulted in expedited decline."
Sysadmin: "They hardly even changed the database, what's all the fuss about?"
Non-gamer: "Losers, all the fuss over a computer game, get a life"
Game designer: "The changes in gameplay alienated core audience as expected."
MMO players: "Yep, that's SOE"
Non-mmo gamer: "Wow, SW game. That's cool, I can get a LS."
What is the "truth", what is "objective"?
SOE's ethics are questionable here, but they do not violate business ethics. Is it ethical to reject a female job applicant since she might get pregnant, or request her job to depend on giving up on family? Is it ethical to fire someone because they got ill and the company would need to pay the bills? Or to buy a company, fire all employees and sell the assets for bulk profit?
But like it or not, vandalizing wikipedia, or inciting to such acts is equally objectionable. The key thing to remember here is, that SOE is publically traded publishing company. Their development has always been in the background, and they have, since start and by every intention focused solely on milking existing products dry.
SOE has never, in their entire existance, shown any intention of producing good games, or apeal to gamers. They follow the customary way of dealing with customers. This aproach is common in movie industry, where art has been gone for a very long time. Movies today are made by financial specialists, marketing/sales people and demographics analysts. Somewhere, at the very end of the line, moviemakers get chosen to put the whole thing on tape.
This is how SOE operates. If you can accept that mind-set, which is completely devoid of any emotion, then all that was done is completely benign.
From business perspective, the changes made are exactly the same, as when ceral company changes the packaging of oatmeals, or decides to offer them in 2oz., 5oz. and 10oz. packs, instead of old 30oz. packs. There is no difference.
The ethics of virtual property however, are still mostly undefined, and completely unsuported by legal system. This facet has always been missing from SOE, as they never took it into consideration.
But before going up against the man here with dubious methods, do consider many perspectives, and even lack of understanding from all parties involved. The MMO crowd is small. And understanding of concepts of virtual property as defined in MMO world, at least in western world, is limited to several 100 thousand people. And yet, almost every understands the concept of physcal ownership.
These concepts, while completely familiar to everyone here are utterly unknown to just about everyone not belonging into hard-core MMO world, and even most, probably more than 50%, or MMO players (yes, many simply don't care if their character gets wiped - I ran across many even in SWG, who didn't waste a second over the fact that after leaving for 1+ years all of their posessions were gone, or even their characters deleted).
So it's a mix of usual rip-off business tactics, lack of understanding and a somewhat new area which hasn't even remotely gained acceptance in everyday's world.
