Diablo 3!! will blizzard make us pay monthly? and also what new classes?

hey.
i wonder if greedy old blizzard will make us pay monthly for diablo 3? what do you think?

 

also i wonder what new classes they will bring out... because lets be honest in most rpg / mmorpg there are the same or near enough the same classes in each game

my ideas for the new/old classes that would be put in to the game are

druid/warrior/assasin/mage/necro/amazon

then for some new ones like

vampire?
vampire hunter?

a preist and maby an evil preist for the underworld side

what do you guys think?

Do you even know if they are ganna make this game? If they are it's not ganna be the same i won't buy it i only liked diablo 2 because of it's hack and slash fighting style.

no im not sure its even being made, but you see young sir. it probably will seeing as blizzard have 3 great franchises to play with. diablo warcraft and star craft.

it would be mad if they didnt bring either starcraft or diablo 3 in to a modern frame of light.

i however am backing diablo 3 seeing as i like it alot more than the other 2 games

just wondered IF they make it what new classes could be created because lets be honest.......
all the classes are the same in rpg's these days they either change the names of the class or change some of the skills!



but also what they could improve on generally to make their next game even better than the rest

Honestly I'd like to see Blizzard try something new. Whatever they make is a solid release (except for the expansion to the original Diablo), and something new and refreshing from a company I can guarantee will bring a good game would be nice.

i hear what your saying mate. but what could they possably create? that would be diffrent because theve covered the space theme but also theve covered typical fantasy gaming with warcraft and diablo what else could there be

I agree i disliked WoW....

but i heared that if diablo 3 is to be made that hey will be going for a heaven vs hell feel. which would be pretty awsome

To be brutally honest I don't really see Blizzard releaseing anything really new while milking WoW for all it's worth.

I mean it is their current cash cow, and they probably don't want to compete with themselves.

you say that WoW is their cash cow.... but why just stick with that? if they made diablo 3 and charged jsut as many people for that to play they would make more of a killing.

i am personally an x-wow player only because i got bored of it.

and im sure theres plenty more of people like me who would play diablo 3 but not wow

I will give that when WoW launched they were hiring programmers for an RPG project, speculated to be Diablo 3, but it has been what 2 years since then?  And no new info not even anything hinting at on the Blizzard website.

Besides releaseing Diablo 3 would cause direct competition with WoW, unless it wasn't playable online.  So I think the Blizzard penny-pinchers will milk WoW for the time being.

Blizzard might aswell compete with themselves because at the moment no one else can compete with them....soe does it with eq2 and swg so i dont see why blizzard wouldnt do it either.

I would like to point out that SOE have made some horrible mistakes regarding their games recently, and they are also on a plan where one monthly payment allows you to play all of their current MMO's.  So they still get the same amount of money.

Another way to look at it, is that if Blizzard released Diablo 3 and required a monthly subscription to play online, in the next year while WoW still dominates their profit margin will be minimal, at best they won't loose much, cause some from WoW would cancel and start playing Diablo 3.  But I just don't see it as a very smart move for Blizzard to release a completely different game of a similar genre to WoW at the moment.  However a sequel to Starcraft wouldn't be a bad idea, and I'm not talking about Ghost.

hey people there will be diablo3 and it wouldn't be mmo becouse i and others players(thousands of players) signed a petition to release soon the game and i think we haven't mentioned something about mmo,but it will be a great game and i have heard that they wan't to make starcraft2 and warcraft4 one of these games but diablo3 will surely be maded

I think someday we will see a Diablo III and a Starcraft II.  I'm more excited about Starcraft II really, but I dont think I would pass up D3 if they made it.

I imagine it would be sort of what Dungeon Runners is looking to become...  Mostly just because Dungeon Runners looks so much like D2   We'll have to see though, maybe they'll decide to take it in a new direction.  I doubt they will have monthy fees for a Diablo game though.

there isn't going to be a Diablo III. the first reason being that most of the co workers on the diablo games have left blizzard and started their own studio which is currently working on Hellgate London. Second, Blizzard itself is far to occupied with running World of Warcraft, so don't hope on seeing D3 any time soon, if not ever.

I would love to see Diablo III come out.  I think WoW is going to drop off soon with the new RPGs coming out and Blizzard will have to look elsewhere.  I dont want D3 to turn out anything like WoW, I want it to be D3 just as it was before with Diablo and Diablo II.

If you really loved Diablo2 and StarCraft as much as I did you might like to know that the creator of those, Steig Hedlund, is now working for another company (Perpetual Entertainment) and is making the game "Gods and Heroes: Rome Rising". I've been watching the game for a while on their site and I think it is going to be the next big MMO to hit the market. Hopefully it will offer an alternative to EQ2, WoW, DDO, Eve, and any of the other mainstream MMO games that are dominating the market right now. Personally I have played them all to death along with most of the others even down to Toontown (hey the wife likes it). And since the company making it is new to the MMO scene I know they are not trying to rush it to market and are really making a top notch product. Steig's name alone was enough for me but it really does look like the next big thing.

          If they are working on Diablo III it would be really awesome, but still probably wouldnt even get released till E3 2008 or later if Blizzard hasnt even announced it. Diablo 2 was awesome.. i mean they still sell diablo battle chests at most Game store such as Gamestop, EB games, etc. Diablo 3 would be huge. We'll just have to wait and see.

Anyway, I think they can make an MMO of starcraft, I was thinking of it last night.

If they made diablo 3 i'd have to run away from the US cuz it would ruin my life again. I'd definitely play Starcraft.

I think starcarft can be made into a good MMO type.

The PvE would consist of many many single player missions, dual player, small group, medium group, large group, and such.

The PvP would be the main weight of the game. The way it could be done is, you remember in some of the starcraft missions, you'd start a mission with a set of guys.

Like 20 units and so. The PvP would consist of a pre-set number of units with differing objectives. The only difference is that each unit(s) would be controlled by another player. But the draw in the game would be that it would be many games in one.

1. It would have fast and furious FPS action if you were a marine or hydralisk etc

2. It would have a hack/slash if you were zergling, zealot, or firebat

3. It would have a flying and attacking component with the valkyrie and corsair

4. It would have a mechwarrior type with the goliath. Where the Ground to ground warfare would be an FPS, and the ground to air would be like a lock and load type.

5. It would have a magic user type appeal with the medic, ghost, dark templar, etc

6. The cruiser would be sort of like EVE in a way



Among the PvP there would be free for all battles and many types of organized PvP into something akin to battlegrounds in WoW.

I know the battle grounds in WoW suck, but it may actually work in Starcraft.

The way it would be is that you'd choose a character and do the mission, solo or in groups and whatever and you'd be able to heavily customize your guy. You'd also get a certain amount of skills that would train in an eve-style but there would also be in-game experience type of situation and basically you could tailor your guy in some way.

Want to shoot more accurately as a marine but do less dmg, you can do with skills, want to be a faster running marine or a faster shooting marine and what not. It could be a lot of fun. THe crux of hte game play would be the clans.

A clan of people will let's say, enter type 1 battle ground. Where they will have available to them.

10 marines, 5 firebats, 6 medics, 4 siege tanks, 4 goliaths, 4 valkyries, 3 wraiths, 2 science vessels, and one battle cruiser.

The other side would consist of Zerg units consisting of 6 hydralisks, 12 lings, 3 lurkers, 8 overlords, 2 ultralisks, 2 queens, 1 defiler, 8 mutalisks, 4 guardians, and 4 devourers.

Then they'd battle it out, you could set the goal as defend the king unit or whatever or last one standing wins or whatever else you wnat. You could have it so if you die, your out of the game, or you respawn in a few minutes or it's ust like a death match.

You can also be able to create your own custom settings. The thing is the clan will be able to fill those unit slots with individual players and their customized units.

Or you can just make it like EVE but on a planet and there is faction vs faction warfare. The problem is, you'll get everyone as a battlecruiser if they had the choice. I'd personally be torn between choosing a valkyrie, wraith, goliath, battlecruiser, dark templar, siege tank, and Ghost.

If I had a guess, I'd choose to go with a Goliath or a wraith.

Starcraft rocks.

If blizzard comes out with another good game, you will have 1 month to beat it, then 23 months to get bored with it until they make another part to it, which will probably nerf all of what your 1 month has acomplished , so that will make you play 2 months more virtually from scratch then another eon for something new to be done with it.
