Dark Elf vs. Orc Mystic

kordrialkordrial Member Posts: 160

Hey, just got game.

trying to decide between the two, i love the sinister nature of the dark elves, and the idea of a battle mage appeals to me, so any experience with them in game, either fighting as, or against, or with, would be great.

Although Orcs are supposed to be battle mages (hybrid fight/mage) they are really support. People do play them as a fight/mage but their primary role is to aid their party.

DE mages are pure DD's and don't do any party support at all.

is a 'support' roll effective? or wanted? i know in 'most' games the healer or 'priest' class is underpopulated, and therefore in demand, but i heard 2boxing ruined that in L2? was that an exaggeration or will i never really be needed at all?

Support is defnitely needed. A 78 warcrier is a godsend, granted you have to get to 78. Any OL is needed for both small scale and mass pvp.

Overlords are great for debuffs in small scale pvp. They are awesome for keeping people alive in mass pvp and are pretty effective throughout their level growth.

War Criers are buff bots until 78 and a decent support class. As good as a OL is, I'll take a 78 warcrier to any pvp event over an OL. Any 78 warcrier is invaluable to any clan that wants to be competitive in pvp.

If you decided to go with the Orcs, I wouldn't recommend  an
Overlord as your first char. a Warcryer is a nice first char imo, your
wanted in groups and can hold your own image
