Hello,
I'm wanting to try WWIIO out but i need to know the following things.
Can someone show me a few screenshots of the inventory (if there's one?) and skills / equipment?
How is respawning? Can you respawn in a few seconds or can you respawn without having to wait?
and maybe more which is usefull to know?
Thanks.

There is no inventroy, you don't collect items, you don't learn new skills through the game.
You start out with the lowest equipment. The rifle, the truck, light anti-tank guns, anti-aircract guns, the scout car and light tanks (Think infantry support tank).
From doing missions and getting success, you get rank. Each rank up to captain you get better equipment. The game is huge and there is a lot to learn. From when to use smoke grenades, where to deploy your LMG to where to shoot an enemy tank and the safest way to town. You will always be learning new tactics, stratagies and meeting new friends.
If you die, that piece of equipment is GONE for 3 hours. This is called attrition. You can get your enemies base to have 0 equipment so you can just walk right in. This takes a lot of work and time but happens often during major battles. You can respawn at will as long as there is equipment.
If you plan on playing the game, play it with people who know the game already. There is a lot to learn and a lot that can happen. If you really want to, you will get the hang of it all in a matter of days and from there on out, you will never turn back.

I hope this helps.

I am VERY good at that game and always got the highest rank in it which is possible.
If so i will try it out.
@Bable: I'm not sure if your ingame name is also Bable but i just referred you, or someone else that uses the name but i'm hoping it's you anyway lol.

It's not like Wolfenstein. In fact, it's not like any other game out there. It's a battlefield simulation to be specific, so everything is ultra realistic (related to vehicles at least).
Think of it like you would America's Army, except applied to tanks and planes as well as infantry. Nothing has "hit-points", instead you have to penetrate the armor and kill the crew inside. Hitting a tank 100 times in it's wheels will not help you.
It's also different in that you can't rambo your way through it. If you don't communicate with other people and use teamwork, you will get rolled.
The basic goal of the game is to capture towns, and you do this by capturing a series of facilities within each town. I don't have time to explain it, but the game is so rewarding that it I'm not sure I could describe it to you anyway. Very steep learning curve, so make sure you find a buddy who can get you started and help you along the way. Most everyone is extremely helpful and kind and I'm sure you'll make lots of new friends should you get the game.
This game really blows, you need a joystick to play and the graphics are horrible. OMG.

Phantium, do you have teamspeak2? E-mail me at pilotbable@hotmail.com . I will get with you in the game and show you around. It is really an amazing game once you understand what is going on. This goes for anyone wanting to try the game out.
PS Thank you, that is my in game name. I hope to see you in the game. I play for the French Army.

Phatinum I too agree that the graphics is somewhat lacking, but no fear just next month (April) we get new bushes and so on, in fact all vegetation is goin to be replaced, and we get wind sway in trees and so on :-)
But this game is so powerfull in its gameplay that even if graphics were worse (and believe me they have been) you will still love this game!!
That being said we are getting a lot of eye candy (recently we got visual damage on twin engine Aircrafts) real soon, Come next patch (April) most ground vehicles will get cool visual damage.
And to make this even more interesting, we get a whole new User Interface, CoD kind of effects and so on & on & on & on.
WWII Online is one of the best games to play when it comes to patches/bug fixin/updates & CRS Listen to its playerbase.
S! And thx for addin Bable as recruitment officer GJ! See you on the Battlefield!
I flatly refuse to say anything positive about the game until the airplane damage models get fixed, once and for all.
Trust me, I can say some pretty positive things about the game too.

Platinum I didnt say it was THE Best updates games - I said one of them.
And dont lecture me about games Ive played PC games for over 15 years (and Im wasnt exactly 5 years old when I started ok!).
Im here to give info not to let U drag me into this discussion U trying to get goin!
Enough said!
ww2online is about the best game out there if your looking for teamwork, making new friends and enjoy full scale battles involving tanks, planes, boats and inf. they are constantly changing stuff. The graphics on it are so-so, but they were left like this to cater to the dialup guys and the not so good computer guys. Well, those days are out the door. They are updating the graphics and requirements obviously will be going up to play this game. If your looking for a goodtime, steep learning curve and playing with people all over the world, than i highly recommend it. Ive played uo, everquest, planetside, swg. None of them even come close to creating the environment this game creates. The organization it requires to put together attacks is insane. The first time you get in the game, you will die and die repeatedly, hehe. If your going to check it out, you make sure and join a squad instantly. this is not a game meant for lonewolves. Some guys lonewolf, but i guarantee they are not having near the fun that the guys working together as a team are. You can play british, french or German. A joystick is a must if you want to fly, tank or drive boats. Id highly suggest nothing under a 2ghz computer, 1gig of ram and a 128mb vid card. You can play with less, but you wont get a good feel for the game. Id highly recommend picking up the game, joining up with a big squad and playing for a couple weeks. You'll be hooked. Ive played lots of games. This one, ive been playing for over 2 years and am hooked on it like crack. And theres tons of other guys that are just as hooked as me. Its hands down, the best team oriented game out there. With newer tanks/planes/boats and inf added a couple times a year and rules changed up constantly it keeps your interest. Good luck if you join and dont forget to join a squad. You will never get the true feel of the game without doing so. What sets this game apart from any other game out there, is the teamwork and comradery. You wont find it anywhere else.
I'm playing WWIIOL since its release in 2001 and it only gets better and better.
To get an impression about the game there are some player-made movies as well:

Life is too short to play bad games.
It is a great game and it is worht trying. The game is built on true dmg charts, the energy of a bullet that goes thrue armor... how the energy changes, how the bullet bounzes just to give the game an accurate image of real fighting. You dissable a tank, plane by the means they did in the real world war, you go for the weak spot. Where a tank, plane and of the modelss avaliable in the game where weak in the real WWII thats where they are weak in the game also.
The game is built around tactics, sorry to say it isnt used much in any other mmorpg but here its a key to winning. As in all the other mmorpgs out there with pvp tactics are great to use but in most mmorpgs people have forgotten how to come up with tactical moves and only goes for more numbers. In WWIIonline tactics wins the maps. There isnt anything sweater to see a well organized attack on a city, even if you know that you are doomed.
Try it an get your own opinion, we can only write what we think about the game.

There is very often free trials, but they are also usually promos from some magazine wanting to promote the game.
As of right now there is no promo.
You can go to this page:
http://www.wwiionline.com and in top press:
Getting Started->Free Trial and check out once in a while to see if there is a free promo up and running.
Otherwise the game is 12$/month :-)

So, since you know so much about MMORPGs, how many times does WW2OL get updated?
Usually 1-3 small patches every month, and a large patch once every 1 1/2 month. Some gaming site (Or Magazine) rated WW2OL #1 for most frequent patches. So don't tell me other games are updated as often. Cause I've sure not played one if there is.
Sometimes, it is better to say nothing at all. Cause big mouths results in big words, and big words travel like bacteria.

I've been playing ww2ol since about Nov '03; along side E&B and PS untill Dec, 2003, and eventually dropped out of E&B and PS all together in favor of ww2ol because of the depth of the system and gameplay compared to the other two. Sure PS and E&B had superior graphics but the gameplay took a nosedive once my intial visual infatuation wore off. Although, the terrain of WW2ol is about to be upgraded significantly with 3d terrain (see below) that actually sways when the wind blows. And by the way, you hear the breezes, as well as flies buzzing around your head, and with surround sound speakers the audio component of the game acutally enhances your gameplay experience to the extent that what you hear becomes equally important to what you see! People are always screaming for everyone to turn off their engines when not moving because each vehicle has a distinct sound whose location can be traced based on its sound's direction is relation to you. When you hear engines rumbling out of all your speakers simultaneously then the enemy is either directly in frontt or behind you!
The Vehicles are pretty historically accurate too although the infantry are rather flat looking. A new infantry graphics upgrade is in the works too. All in all though, a satisfying experience visually.
The learning curve is incrediblly steep, especially coming out of the Rambo style FPS games, and I almost threw in the towel after about a week of getting killed mercilessly. But once I got hooked up with a group, and there are some good ones out there on both sides, I picked up the details of the game quickly.
Most importantly, the developers actually play the game along side the users. You do see them flying the planes and hoofing along on foot in game and fighting on both sides, which is so incredibly important since it shows that they are just as interested as the rest of us in the quality of the game.
In short, ww2ol is a constantly evolving and growing in size and depth. Once you are comfortable with the system and get hooked with a compatable squad, it will keep your interest for a good long time; in my most humble opinion, of course.
Cheers!
Considering the scope I think the graphics are pretty good.
There is a heck of a learning curve though, thats for sure.

Trust me, phantium, if you think those games are hot, WW2OL is NOT for you... (Didn't you say you didn't even have a joystick?)
How could you play a tank or flight sim without a stick? Granted if the infantry game required one Id be upset too, but it doesnt.
It seems to me you couldnt get the aiming as pin-point with a mouse. Maybe Im just too old fashioned .
At first, the game might seam a bit strange... But thats becouse this game is like none other games out there.
There are moments ingame, that cant be described.
If graphics is a must for you, wait 6 months, and the game will be up to todays standard.
It's being patched all the time, and the developers LISTEN to the comunitys wishes.
Also, there are NO PLAYERMADE CHEATS to the game, wich is a BIG plus!
This game, atleast for me, is a shining holy grail.
