Gears of War 10 hours of fun followed by.....

Gears of War is one of the best looking games out there on the market to date, the graphics are amazing, also the game uses cover which gives it great tactical game playing ability. But that’s it about Gears of War. Fro all the hype, for as great as the graphics are and as wonderful as the use of cover is, that too me is what seems to have been the focus of this game by the developer. I was expecting Gears of War to be the Halo 2 killer I wanted, unfortunately it failed to make the grade. The game lasts 10 hours and you are done, after that there is really nothing else to do with the game. You spend over 80 dollars to play 10 hours of gaming and that is all. The story of Gears of War is good, but it is not great, there are games out on the market today that do indeed have a far better story then Gears of War, Halo being one of them, also Oblivion and others, they all have better stories. The Single player game of Gears of War is fantastic, it is allot of fun and you will enjoy it I almost guarantee it, but there is more to a game then just Single play, especially when you fork out over 80 dollars for a game. Considering what Gears of War is and all the hype that went along with it, to be honest a frank the Multiplayer side of Gears of War sucks, I expected something better, something more, and got nothing. Halo 2 multiplayer is twice the game Gears of War is. Simple put Gears of War is not the Halo 2 killer I wanted, in fact Gears of War as far as I am concerned is completely over hyped, if you don’t mind spending over 80 dollars to play a single player game for 10 hours get Gears of War, if you are expecting more from a game, if you want to be able to have hours on end of exciting multiplayer you will not get it with this game, in that case I would rent it, because you will still be able to play the game and save yourself the 80 dollars. Bring it on down now.

    Well what do you expect you could tell what this game was like just from the ammount of hype it was getting.

    Im sure its a fun FPS but groudbreaking? Well the graphics are ok id give them about an 90% because they are almost to high end pc status which does show the processing power held within the Xbox.

    obviosly didn't play online. I am addicted to Gears of War on Xbox
    Live. Its the best game i have ever played, and the graphics are
    stunning...

    I knew I would like it but not love it and I was right. COD3 looks better, has better gameplay, and also has a better multiplayer.In fact I played SP the first day for about an hour and then MP for 2-3 minutes and haven't played it again since. I plan to, but I also have to beat COD3 and M:UA first.

    GoW is too much like a shooter on steroids for me to enjoy it. I don't want to have to hit an enemy 40 times to kill him and I don't like playing a character that feels like he is 400lb with all that crap on him.
