Where are all the MMORPG's?

I miss the good old days when MMO's were described as games where you could do anything you want, games like SWG where you could do soooo much.  WHEN WILL ANOTHER GAME LIKE THAT EVER COME OUT!  Games like WoW seem to be almost a step back, since to me the game seems no different than playing a single player game.  I need a game like SWG where a new player and veteran player have about the same health stats, the only difference being the weapon, armor, and skills.  I miss the player built cities, and crafted items, and then the landscape that stretched forever

I am saddened as i look at the new games coming out, and i am dissapointed.  Nothing strikes me as especially superb, although there are some really good games that are coming, AoC & GH, but they are missing that special quality.  GH especially is dissapointing in the fact that it will not have crafting at launch!!!  Whats the point to combat if there isn't an equally powerful and intricate crafting system!

I'd like a game like the original SWG, though I only finally got around to trying it after the whole CU/NGE apocalypse. From what I've heard it was amazing for RP.

Crafted items being the major priority would be amazing, thinking of the possibilities (i.e. some blacksmith figures a brilliant combination using rare materials and forges a sword which goes through the hands of others, being broken and repaired, becoming nearly legendary.) I'd even like an option to completely turn off the interface, giving you only visual cues as to when your Health is low or Stamina is draining.

Shame WoW had to be so successful...

Yeah, I'd like an MMORPG that's not repetitive and boring, too.  Something where you could run around and do whatever.  I don't look for it to happen though.
