Who is your favorite author.

What's everyone favorite author?

Mine is Peter David. He has written so many books that I have not even read half. Yet, I have never found one I did not enjoy. His whole Star Trek The New Frontier series, Sir Apropos of Nothing trilogy, One Knight Only, and many more. His web page is www.peterdavid.net . Trust me if you read just one of his books you would love it. I suggest Apropos of Nothing if you do not care for Star Trek. If you like Star Trek read The New Frontier.

Now tell me your favorite author.

anne rice. ive only read the original vampire chronicles, so i can only talk about them.

she really redoes what everyone thinks about vampires and destroys many of the cliches associated with them. she makes her vampires seem like human, not like monsters. they deal with real problems, and real moral choices. some parts can be genuinely creepy as well. i'd reccomend starting with interview with the vampire, since its the first in the series.

Ambrose Bierce - one of the greatly overlooked authors.  Most folks would "know" one of his works from the television show "Twilight Zone" since they made one (Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge)into an episode.

I would recommend to anyone to go down to their local library and check out the collection of short stories, I believe none would be disappointed.

Make no mistake, MMORPG's are not games, they are hobbies. If you have a job, you'll need to give up watching TV in order to play one. You'll be better off for it.

John Kennedy Toole: Wrote my favorite book ever (A Confederacy of Dunces) but killed himself before it was published.

Charles Bukowski: I love his stuff.

John Krakauer:  More of a reporter, but he knows how to build to a climax.  Into the Wild was my favorite of his.  I am currently reading Under the Banner of Heaven.

C.S. Lewis:  This guy was brilliant, period.

Edwin Arlington Robinson and W.B. Yeats:  My two favorite poets.

Eugene Ionesco:  Pretty avant garde, but I love Rhinoceros.

    Tough question...

Weiss and Hickman... Read the first 3 DragonLance novels and then read the DeathGate Cycle...

Very good stories... All written by that pair of authors...

There's no way I could choose a favorite.  I grew up reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz.  But I also love Anne Rice, Shakespeare, Jane Austin, and Michael Crichton.  image

Steven Coonts, Patrick Robinson and Tom Clancy. And whoever wrote See Spot Run. No one compares to their writing skillz. I recommend Red Storm Rising, Flight of the Intruder, and H.M.S. UNSEEN.
