It's being made by Mythic
After spending years playing DAoC and watching a great game turn in to a pile of steaming dog doo ill never spend my money on another mythic product.
I have no doubt that this game will most likely get offf to a great start just as DAoC did.
I also have no doubt that in the long run Mythic will do with it just as it has done with DAoC start out great and go to hell in a hand basket shortly there after.
Either due to inability or un willingness to it oftens takes mythic years to admit there mistakes let alone fix them. They have poor customer service. Just to name a couple of things. I don't want to rant so ill leave it at that.
Why am I even bothering to post this here? Because if I can save one person from going through the agrevation and disapointment and continual let downs I have expirianced with DAoC it will be well worth it.

O I will at least try it just like I will at least try alot of the new games.
Hopefully they will take some ques from blizzard and not take forever to make positive changes to classes who need buffs.
classic :P

and so does everybody else. In the end, even with all the mistakes made, DAOC was the best mmorpg I've played and I look forward to their next gen product.
Im going to play it for the exact same reason.
They made mistakes such as /level and ToA. Witch are mistakes they know they did. Read up on Mark Jacobs views on WAR and know that WAR has truly awesome potential.
DAoC is also, by far, the best MMO I've ever played.
hahahaha

Funny, that's one of the main reasons I'm excited about WAR... DAOC was the best PvP ever IMO. But goodluck on your crusade against Mythic.
Another issue with this thread is that you slam Mythic for making bad decisions, yet in other threads you promote Blizzard. Come on, man. Yes, Blizzard did a number of things right with their interface and making the level grind more enjoyable, but they also built their game in such a way that it will never be balanced, that forces you to play the way they say you have to play rather than catering to various playstyles, and that leaves you wondering, in the stale and redundant endgame, why you ever bothered to purchase it in the first place. PvE may be your thing, and if so I can understand why you have issues with Mythic because the PvE was seriously lacking in DAOC. But for true fans of Mythic, PvP is the clincher and Blizzard's stagnant PvP does not hold a candle to Mythic's knowledge of how to build a good PvP/RvR system.
I'm hoping WAR's PvE will be more entertaining than that of DAOC, and everything I've seen thus far tells me that it will be. But I trust implicitly that Mythic will provide me with another immersive PvP/RvR experience.

I acknowledge they made mistakes. TOA for the most part.... but I don't really see it as a bad mistake... they realized it unbalanced the game in a way they didn't like. Hence, "classic" servers. You can't undo the damage but you can acknowledge it and never do it again. So far they haven't repeated it. Mythic reworks problems, they change or add to, but rarely takes stuff out.
If you take stuff out and undo the damage you get SWG. Bad idea.
Their RvR is still superior to anything else out right now - and they know that... that's why they picked Warhammer it is all about bashing faces in. Overall, I don't give a flying f*** what you think about Mythic's performance... they earned my loyalty 4 years ago, they've always answered community concerns, and made attempts to please the players.
Plus, Sanya Thomas is a sweetie... she's the best CM on any mmo out there. I've played them all, Clem. I just can't fit them all in my signature... 500 character limit.
Currently playing: Eve, DAOC, Warhammer
Games I've beaten: AC, AO, CoH, DAOC, D&D, EQ, EQ2, FFXI, FlyFF, GW, Horizons, L2, Ryzom, Shadowbane, SpaceCowboy, SWG, UO, WoW
Stay away from: Eudemons Online, DNL, and Roma Victor
I haven't played a mythic game yet. However after spending a couple of hours on Warhammers page, it is really starting to appeal to me. time will tell, but My first thoughts were: Ugh! a wow clone. The screenies they have posted of nothing but drawrves look just like Wow. If you drill down into there website, it looks like they have alot more to offer. The Chaos, Human and Elve chars look very impressive and if you read about the game mechanics, it sounds really interesting.
with all the hype about this game, they should really start posting more about the other classes. The dwarves really do look like wow copies, but the rest really look awsome.
One should be careful not to assume that a group of designers who made mistakes in the past will make them again. Certainly, this can happen, but I personally would be more inclined to believe that those who commited errors will be less likely to repeat them than someone new and inexperienced. Perhaps that is just the optimist in me, but as a new player of Dark Age of Camelot, I have a lot of confidence in Mythic's team; they seem to have resolved numerous problems that some players had with the game, and DAoC is still a highly enjoyable experience today.
Even the most stubborn designers learn from mistakes. Take World of Warcraft, for example; after its absurd number of 40-player raid dungeons turned off many players, they decided to drop (for now, anyway) the number of required players in the expansion 'raid' dungeons. Although this is arguably not a drastic change, it is a turn for the better, and does show that they learned a bit from a previous 'mistake'.
Hopefully, the designers at Mythic have learned from World of Warcraft, Everquest I and II, and their own mistakes with Dark Age of Camelot and will turn away from the entire 'huge, time-consuming raid' aspect which, to me, seems like a fairly silly way to create enjoyable content. From the words of Paul and others there at Mythic, I am encouraged to believe this will be the case. We'll have to wait to see for sure, but by the same token we should not act absurdly and 'write off' a game before its released.

Why I won't bother reading this post...
I looked at the bottom of the post and saw "expirianced" and saw that the OP edited it...
I totally agree.

the game did go downhill a bit after toa and they did release some things i wasnt happy about.
BUT then they released classic servers, which shows they listen to what the community wants and arent above admitting they may have made mistakes.
if nothing else they will learn from what few failures DAoC had and WAR will be perfect
