I just signed up at fileplanet, and the site says I can dowload the file now, yet when I go to download it, I am told it cannot be accessed because I need a key. What gives? Why tell me I can download it now when I can't?
Peculiar.. I'm downloading mine as we speak, I never had a problem. When I clicked the 'download now' link, it just took me to a normal Fileplanet page where I chose a server.
Dunno how regular of a subscriber you are, but that sounds like its usual warning that you need a key. Somewhere on the page should be a download button that will take you to where you can choose you download location.

Might not help but make sure you are logged in. Fileplanet usually opens this type of thing up to non-paying people as well and you may have just found a way to get it not logged in.
1. Have you subscribed, or just signed up? You need to hand over money to download the beta client.
2. I've been to'ing and fro'ing with someone in their support department for a week to get the beta to download. I could download every other file there, except the one I wanted - ARRRGGGHHH!!!
Solution - FilePlanet's setup for the Vanguard Beta download dislikes proxy IPs. FP's download manager can't resolve it. Nor can some other download managers. Download Accelerator Plus can (http://www.speedbit.com/). If you have FP's download manager installed, uninstall it and install DAP. Using Firefox as your browser (it won't work from IE) make sure the popup blocker is off and proceed through the download setup or get the URL for the file download and just add it in DAP.

Also, I just installed GetRight's trial version and it's getting the file just fine.
I right-clicked on the link to the zip and pasted it into GetRight. Simple enough.

Not for me. I just tried GetRight now and hit the same problem I found on other download managers.
I've no idea what it is about this particular file and my connection, but DAP is the only program I've been able to download this sucker with.
