mini-game wish

For pure fluff purposes, I would like to see bloodbowl added as a mini-game! Anyone else?

    I waiting for blizzard to add "chucka gnome" into WoW or "gnome bowling" or "how many gnomes can u juggle" mini games.  The devs as yet have not commented on this idea.

    I'm for it, only if you can play aganist the other races in your faction.

    Blood Bowl, is a Games Workshop boardgame set in the Warhammer Fantasy era and is pretty much thier version of american football and rugby.

    Two teams meet in an arena and try to score points by taking a ball to the other side's end zone. Injuring/maiming/killing players on the other team is allowed and encouraged so that your team will have an easier chance to score.

    "Whosoever shed last blood
    By man shall his blood be shed
    For immunity of God make he the man
    Destroy all that which is evil
    So that which is good may flourish
    And I shall count thee among my favored sheep
    And you shall have the protection of all the angels in Heaven."

    Lots of Bloodbowl info for you at: www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/default.asp

    This is how they define it taken from: www.specialist-games.com/bloodbowl/whatis.asp

    Blood Bowl is the game of fantasy football. Throughout the Olde Worlde and beyond, teams of fearless warriors - known as Blood Bowl players - face each other on ritualised battlefields known as pitches or even just fields. Their aim is to score as many touchdowns as possible in the time allowed. To score a touchdown a player must move an inflated pig's bladder - also known as a 'ball' - into the opposing team's end zone. Of course, the opposing team is also trying to do the same.

    The ball can be moved around the field in many ways from being kicked, carried thrown or even held by a thrown player! The opposing team will be trying to gain possession of the ball as well. They can do this by intercepting a ball from a throw, picking up the ball if it has become 'loose' or the far more frequent method of being violent and smacking the ball carrier! Players are prohibited from using weapons during the game. This is because in the original sacred Playbook, the god of Blood Bowl, Nuffle decreed that 'one's own body is the only weapon he needs to play the game'. Over the years this hasn't stopped teams using this admittedly rather loose wording to maximum effect and is the reason why a player's armour is more likely than not covered in sharp protruding spikes with blades and large knuckle-dusters attached to gauntlets. The history of Blood Bowl is littered with the illegal use of weapons and the many devious contraptions bought forward by numerous races - the Dwarfs and Goblins in particular - ranging from monstrous machines such as the Dwarven Death-roller to the no-less-dangerous chainsaw.

    They would have to make it so you can play againsts any opposing teams.  You would then have to allow the creation of teams and then put in league play.  Then they can add the big games for the cups!

    Having BB skills that you earn and can only use in BB games would be a bonus and they should get wiped at the end of the season (league play).  Allow those with 3+ seasons to carry a lower level skill to the next season.  Those with 7+ season also get a upper skill to carry over.

    But there is now way they would add this to the game.

    Ok sounds cool. I hope Mythic will add stuff like that into the game for the full "warhammer" experience.

    I'm up for mini games sure, and yes.... but blood bowls just not going to work for the game there trying to sell, its a cassic of a game don't get me wrong but its a huge spin off the warhammer name.

    Warhammer -> Mordhiem

    Warhammer 40k -> Necromunda

    Blood Bowl.... im still trying to figue out how it fits in to Warhammer after all these years, its like Gorkamorka race game for 40k, just a spin off from the reality of the game its self.

    For those who heven't tried Blood bowl I'd give it a go, it takes only one team so not a army's worth of models to paint, and its quick and easy to get in to, but for a WAR is every were game its just not going to be possible.

    Would like to see mini games though.

    What I don't like about some mini-games is that they are just little versions of the big game.  ex:  dueling.  We have world combat so dueling is nice but still more combat.  What I like is for mini-games to give something different from what we are currently doing.

    Still, it is too interesting for them to add bloodbowl to this game.  Now way it will happen.

    I used to host those myself while I was skilling up my brewing skill in Everquest. I'd make all kinds of Alcohol then have people drink it all down and run around like nuts. It was a blast.

    I'd love to see some mini-games like this in WAR.

    It would be cool... but the whole concept is against the atmosphere they are building and.... it would take too long to create and add by itself for release as to make it right is much much more than a mini-game (keep in mind full retail games have been released on this concept alone).

    But maybe later? It surely does fit in with the warhamer dark humor.... I mean... orc cheerleaders? ewwwwwww!
