Ah...i could cry just knowing i'm going to be playing this game again!
I don't care about the bots, I don't care not a lot of people are playing. I can't stand not playing this game!
Its ... impossible to compare any game to this, i try it doesn't work. In a few days I'm comming back. I would probably play this game since it came out but I tend to eat my parents money and so i stopped a lot. But I'm old enough now for my own income and I have been waiting too long to be able to pay for this game ha.
Sorry for that lil randomness. But I had to announce my return to this game. Not that anyone knows me.
Current: Puzzle Pirates
Waiting: SWTOR,Aion, CO
Played: AC, WoW, SB, EVE

as much as i would want to, the old days are dead for me, i could never relive them so i am staying away
I want to return AC. These past few days I have been yearning to return. I have had this happen to me 2 years ago, but I returned to a world of macros and bots. Dungeon's overran with bots. 6-7 years ago I loved this game when everyone was mostly players and the only real bots were the portal bots. I didn't mind them, til I came to realization that bots speed up the game with buffs and portals.
I'm with the go above me with. The old days are dead. I hope a similar game with a creative sense of fun comes out and the skill system. (Never did like classes...) I hope Darkfall isn't a let down.
As of right now, all that I do for fun is Supreme Commander, Nintendo Wii, and go drinking with college buddies. Rather replace that destructive drinking habbit with a mmo I enjoy.
every games lvling sux, except: uo and ac ! why? macroing.
When Devs start actually not care for their game anymore it gets much worse since they'll start to favor those with bots. Driving out more players that actually PLAY( Word of the Day is PLAY, P-L-A-Y, PLAY). Eventually the botters that actually put their free time and willingness to play the game, willl get bored since they have no one to interact with, then eventually quiting like the legit players.
As I see it botting is destructive to the reliability and longevity of a MMO. My post may not be the best example. Your post however just disagrees and states it makes the game more FUN. How is that productive for a game? When we don't have that option to fall back on many great mmo's that seduce us. MMO's aren't like making a sandwich, It takes much of alot of time. So when there are good games we want to play a bit longer. Therefore, wouldn't it be in our own interests to make the game live on longer so we can a higher level of fun compared of being pushed off to some lesser mmo we don't adore like a prior mmo. *Cough* AC1.
Turbine does actually ban UCM's and checks for them.
Have you even played AC? Bots don't force you out of a dungeon. There are things called "fellowships" you can join and fight with them. The places people UCM are mainly, EO and Eaters. Those dungeons have 3 duplicate dungeons right next to each other. I've never seen all 3 of those dungeons full. So you can always just goto another. Why would you though? Just join the fellowship and enjoy the XP. It's not like they are keeping you from joining.
aye and when you play "by hand" you profit of the felklows too... you can make amounts of xp youd never make solo.
Nice way of bashing and sidestepping a question, truly politician like. How is botting productive to longetivity of a MMO? More fun for you, probably alot more since botters don't play the game. Its like having sex, most women (probally the inexperiance (Virgins) don't mind) do not like men who have a sec- 15 sec spur and are finished, they like the full experiance of a hour or more. Are you one of the quick-shooters? Obviousally, yes.
I've got to admit that this is also the best game I have ever played. I've also tried all the other games and none can do it like this one.
I came back like a year ago and all the towns were dead...make a new asherons call and it would be the best game on the market. I would even come back if they just opened up a new PVP server...lots of people would come back.
Brings back a flood of fantastic times and memories.

AC1: Wierding from Harvestgain
A mage lvl 131 named 'AcquaDiGio
& Xbower lvl 116 named 'Trojanhorse'.
I played in a guild with Agnar who's still playing, Theriac as well in the same guild.
And before that with Wynne Ursulo and some other guys.
I'm from the generation that had to gather all stuff like different tapers, scarabs herbs etc and fizzle fizzle fizzle fizzle to fizzle and fizzle and some more fizzles....I think i started a year after AC's release....is that 2000?
I played a while at Solclaim as well...there i met a very nice guy who's son was playing as well in the same guild. His wife had cancer at the time we played together. And at 1 point she died...i never could talked with this guy again and try to comfort him...that was a painfull situation.
I even remember on Thistledown that i met a guy who was a fisher and when they where making the movie 'The Perfect Storm' he was in the harbor passing the filmset several times...they cutted them from the movie...but they where the true hero's.
So i remember AC as a very social game. Could share a lot. Have a lot fun together.
