I am going back to SWG for good.

Lately i have been hearing to lots of positive feedback from friends who have gone back to SWG. I cancelled subscription to Vangurd and now going to back to SWG because i really miss it. Who am i kidding? even in its current state SWG is 100 times better then Vanguard. This time i wont cancel my account and stay there as long as this game is up and running on servers. I would rather play SWG then any other orc, elves and wizard game in market. I am getting sick of hack and slash games. Conan, War hammer all that crap is still the same.. i don't want to touch another medieval themed MMO for fuuck sake. SWG is still good. I hate SOE but have no choice.

I just left SWG again, the game is a complete waste of time now...... theres only a couple of missions you cant solo, that alone makes it a complete joke now.
If its what you want... enjoy it, i really missed it, came back and thought its not so bad, then just got so frustrated with nothing to do i couldnt take anymore.

I find it disturbing that people have to settle for an MMO because of a lack of choice.
Well at least they have leadership at SOE for SWG.... oh wait crap DOh...
Ok well at least they have success and are blooming with population and there is not talks of server "consolidation" -- DOh crap wait..

Ok ok I got it... I got it... AT least there is sand storms in the game...SHHHHEWWW, I had to come up with somthing that was true and positive.
Just don't attack anything while traveling, or you may be stuck in aggro, or run by a harvester that says you don't have the schematic for it.... OTHER THEN that you should be fine if you stand still, in game.... VERY STILL!!! Don't go into any of the big cities... just pretend in your mind that they are full and lively..... yeah that's it... then go to a player city and pretend the same....
But there is a new feature you do have to look forward to/ Pretend HOLO players with you... yep thats right, you too can now have other pretend players with you so that you do not feel lonely in a cantina or house...that is worth the money I guess.

What choices do i have? everything else is so beaten to death that it makes me sick. Atleast SWG is still different. I would rather pay for SWG then Vanguard. Its not that i am happy but like i said everything else in MMO market is still same old crap.
I recently return for the exact same reasons Shastra. I so sick of the same old rebaked hash. I spent more than a few hours in the tutorial space station and it was a blast. I started a new character on one of the medium population servers, Chilastra. Im mainly a PVE Rp'er, but also enjoy a bit of PvP, so I hope there are others on Chilastra that are like minded.
Company hirings and firings are not something I find terrible interesting. I have the game and 3 expansions to play through and that will take me some time. Weither they get a content team in place soon or not doesnt matter to me. Content is what the player makes of it. I can stand around in any game after reaching the max lvl, but at least I have a blaster, saber or gaffi stick in my hand, not to mention space combat.
As far as "server consolidation", I hope they do it soon and with it the deletion of all the dead cities and houses, etc of those that havent logged on in 6 months to a year. Place them all in the data pad of the owners. I mean ALL the houses and structures. Let new cities arise from the current player base. I see server consolidation as a positive thing, not sure if Im alone on that or not and frankly dont care.
There is A LOT more content in game than there was when I quit playing, which was before the CU, so Im having a blast doing the quests.

As far as what you are taking about with attacking and traveling is false. I havent seen that and I was doing that very thing lastnight. Maybe that which you remember is now not the case or maybe I havent come across it yet. I was in Mos Eilesy(sp) lastnight and it was rather busy, I also seen more than a few people in Bestine and Espa. Not to mention running into a few people while questing.
The holo band looks fun
All in all I dont know why people cant just allow others to do or play what they want without acting like smart asses about it. This area is for "Current or Returning" SWG players. A place to ask questions or talk about the game "We" are playing. Its not a place to bitch and moan about what was, I mean really give it a rest and move on already.

In reality you miss the game the way the game used to be and its no longer the same nowadays. What some people miss are the way it used to be, but you have to realize it's nothing like it once was.
What you miss are the good old days when there were people in the game, servers were alive, game actually had a pulse. The days when you would group or solo your time away doing all sorts of things. That's no longer the game you once knew, face it.
Galaxies is nothig, n-o-t-h-i-n-g like it was and this is what you miss, But once you get a dose of reality and you see the way it is now, you'll have a different approach towards this game. Don't expect the things you once knew, most are long gone. This is reality, this is how it is now.

I think that is a big problem. The lack of people. The game seems to be running decently. More content might be needed at higher levels not sure since I'm not there again but more people is a must. The areas around starports have people I've noticed but I'm still on Tatooine so not sure about other planets. That and they need to purge all of the player cities and houses and add NPC battles or NPC villages in those locations. The player houses and cities that are abandoned just make the world look bad. Rather it be empty then the image of past mistakes still standing.That being said, SWG is without a doubt NOTHING like it used to be. IMO it went from the ultimate sandbox SKILL based game with such depth and longevity (and that is saying a LOT considering this is a game based on a huge license and set timeframe/line) to a game with levels, set classes, and iconic movie representations of each class. Also, having jedi as a class during that time era is just a shame.
Good to see another Bloodfin member. Welcome back. And yes on bloodfin there are very few cities where you will not find people. Of course it's not hundreds but if it was then we would just here how it is not thousands. Whatever nothing will ever be good enough for some of our long lost vets. BLAH BLAH BLAH...... we all hate SOE but I love SW and really don't like Orcs and Goblins. So I will stick around until the end.
Although AoC peeks my interest.!
