Had problems at start but now...

Well, when I first got the game, I was having problems getting it to run smoothly. I posted a thread in this forum asking for help.

I still didn't give up on the game though. I have now been able to play around for a couple hours and this is what I think about the parts.

Harvesting- I love... LOVE the way you go to trees and just chop at them and once you finish it goes down. What is confusing though is what trees you can and cannot chop at other than hovering your mouse over the tree to get the harvest icon. I like the fact that you can process the wood into i guess planks or whatever it is suppose to mean but it is kind of unneccesary.

Crafting- A little confusing. It's like it is suppose to be this complex thing where you click on certain icons to get certain effects. I just found myself rushing through clicking stuff real fast (the right options) and it turned out to be just a small hindrance other than some great technique. You have to buy recipes which I don't care for the fact. I kind of like the idea of buying saws measuring sticks ect. but it still feels like your not doing anything with them other than taking up space in your panties.

Adventuring- I play a lvl 6 Rogue and I have to say it is pretty fun. You REALLY have to stick through one character though. Before I made that rogue I had to at least go through 15-20 different characters (non got past lvl 2). I haven't gotten far enough to make a real review but far enough along for a first impression and so far so good.

Major Bugs- When I swim underwater and come back up everthing goes black (except the GUI) I have to alt tab out then back in to fix the problem.

System Performance- averaged around 21FPS with VG:SOH on a configuration based on balanced.
AMD X2 4200+
2GB DDR2 800 RAM
Geforce 7800GT 256MB GDDR3 (512 under vista for some reason)
300GB HDD IDE 7200RPM
Gigabyte Socket AM2 PCI-e Vista ready
Vista Ultimate Edition
Phys-X Card (don't judge me)
Creative Audigy 2ZS Gamer Ed.

Over all the game has some potential (a word we use on just about every game that doesn't do so well at first) I think it is only up to the developers to make this game into something good before it is too late. If they get their stuff together then we could have another eq/daoc game (minus the first mmorpg feeling we all used to have).

Tell me what you guys think about my lame attempt at a first impression review. I been playing for like 4 days total with only a couple hours under my belt.

I dont understand how you are averaging 21 fps,  i have all the same stats but a PNY 7600 GT and average 30-35 fps on high quality????  And how many hours of gameplay have you had exactly???

It shows 21fps when I hover over the network status bar (the little green bar on the bottom right of screen) It calls it network FPS so it might be a ping issue. I get about 400ms response time.

And I probably had about 8 hours of gameplay.
