Personally, I'm leaving. The game is just a big grind with unimpressive graphics, shallow content, stiff animations, no character customization, and bugs, bugs , BUGS.
I would like to have my dollars back, but I guess it's not possible.
i got mine back by complaining that the minimun required specs were misleading and even though my computer is a lot more powerful than those suggested i still had trouble playing it . (apparently a lot of people are finding the same thing).that aside nothing about this game appeals . the lanscapes and towns look great but they could ve spent a lot more time on the character animation .uninspired gameplay and masses of bugs . i think it ll disapear pretty quickly and be considered the turkey of online gaming. it problems are too fundemental for there to be any quick fix and i doubt even in a year it ll be much improved .
I’ll keep playing for now. I agree that this game has more than its share of bugs and problems right now, but for now I’ll put up with them in the hopes they are temporary. In any case, I do believe the game has great potential. It incorporates more of the features I have come to enjoy in past MMOs than any MMO currently available. So I’ll continue to play for now.
Okay, my first month is about to end. At the moment my plan is to cancel the account for now, maybe ill activate it later. The problem is for me the lagging and my computer isnt just that good to run the game smoothly. Since my computer runs every other game smoothly so I dont have that good reason to update it yet. But I have to say the game is good.

I played WoW but stopped playing after a few months. Even though I quit, I still think WoW is a great game and offers a lot to gamers. And the game can be challenging. I don't know, maybe it's a jealousy thing or something... Anyways, responses like that do nothing to help VG.
They resort to those kinds of statements because they cannot defend their position. You know what's funny? In a couple of months, those same players will be cursing at LotRO and saying how crappy that game is. And then in October, they'll be doing the same for Age of Conan and then WAR and then...etc.There's a big difference here. People are complaining and leaving VG 2 weeks in. Those "other" games might or might not have those problems. I can tell you this though LORTO will most certainly launch with a huge playerbase out of the gate. How long will they stay? We'll see. I don't think anything out there will unseat WoW anytime soon but LOTRO will probably give it a run for the money.

Or does it pain you so much to hear, and realize, how far superior WoW is in it's execution, compared to Vanguard? Because let's face it, WoW is a far far better executed game in just about every way. The ONLY things you could argue about in comparison Vanguard would be a more "modern" graphics engine (matter of taste and it runs like shit), it takes longer to level (which appeals to all your so called hard core gamers out there) and it takes forever to travel... other than that WoW pretty much trumps Vanguard in every way, especially at the high end.

I fail to see the difference in any of these fantasy games what so ever ... same combat ..same type of quests .. .same freaking monsters ... same experience ... same freaking quest items ... same areas ... same classes ... same ....ah ... .well im guessing you get the idea... its a matter of taste ...

Yes its a matter of taste ... I think Wow graphics look like a bad cartoon... hurts my eyes... but that is just a matter of taste .. actually its one of the major reasons i stopped playing ... and the fact I got high level in a short period of time and hated the elitist raid mentality ... zones were just like eq2 ... liked eq2 better actually... but that is opinion again....humm all these opinions.
Just because a million and 1/2 Chinese (no offense to them actually) play the game does not make it superior ... or just because its all hype does not make it better.... look at Britney Spears ... or the question of the century ...why is Paris Hilton popular ?
As for timesinks......are your utterly insane ? Have you tried grinding in Lineage 2 ? Or faction grinding in WoW ? Vanguards so called timesinks are easy compared to many other games. Especially the faction grinding. Evidentally you were expecting some WoW clone, and should now just go cry back back to middle school because to be quite honest....Vanguard is for the big boys and girls, and we are loving it.

It's sort of amazing how popular opinion as gauged by internet message boards are seen as so probative. I have nothing against EQ2 but its "revitilization" hasn't resulted in increased subscribers. They've slowly dwindled.

There is this one poster on the SWG forums who has not played the game in a year who seem to be attracted to the forum and does nothing but post on their how he hates the game ... has he found a new game to hate? Does he have some fatal attraction to SWG? I see the same thing here.... people who have not played since beta...strangely attracted to the drama continue to post on these boards to be minimally involved ... have they not found a new game to hate yet? I used the 10 day free trial and saved the 1 month key based on a friend's advise and little i got to see in beta.
It can be the dream game i am looking for .The core of the game is exactly what i want but there so many things they need to work on i feel if i stay i come to hate the game and leave before they sort it out and never return.

I was stupid and paid to play a beta. Well, it was a waste of money and time, but I learned and will never buy anything from that company again. Just hope other companies will learn from this as well and not publish such faulty products. Btw, I'm sure its illegal to refuse to refund people for something like this. Just cancelled my account after becoming totally and utterly gripped by anger and frustration at this unfinished product (it was either that or launch the computer through the window). Luckily I have just got a beta key for Lord of the rings, and from what Ive seen so far, it is by far a more finished and superior game to this heap of sh*t. I have submitted a refund request to SOE and explained my frustrations, and either asked them for 2 months free subscription to cover what I spent buying this trash or a full refund for the game itself.
I wanted to hate this game, I really did...but i will be playing it for a while, I think...i havent had anywhere near the # of issues that you all have had...my only frustation is the good good kind, trying to solve quests and enjoying the 'hardness' of the game
I have now come across several quests that are broken. I crash roughly once every few hours. I often log in dead. I fall through the ground here and there. Nonetheless, I am having a lot of fun. ^_^
Yea, I know that sounds paradoxical, but my tolerance for bugs in a new game is quite high. Plus, I really love the general direction Vanguard is going.
I guess the way I see it, Vanguard is a work in progress. It is a little raw and rough around the edges right now. I don't blame ANYONE who cancels their subscription and looks to come back later. As for me, however, I will happily keep paying to play. Those who have said the game is "unplayable" are simply wrong. There are problems, yes, but the game is very playable.
I will keep on playing and like others have all ready selected to pay in 3 months at a time... I am enjoying Vanguard more then any other released game and for me it is far more entertaining then the Lotro beta has been thus far. Yeah there are bugs, but those bugs are getting taken care of. Most of my real life friends are playing now or will be once they get their computers upgraded and so I have no reason to go elsewhere.
