Problem With Game

MystiquMystiqu Member Posts: 60

I just downloaded the game and installed it... when I get to the character creation screen the character graphic isn't there, I just see a club suspended in the air without a character holding it...  any ideas as to why?

Here's the fix from the lead dev:

    Try this:

    1. Click Start

    2. Click My Computer

    3. Double-click Local Disk C:

    4. Double-click Program Files

    5. Double-click NCsoft

    6. Double-click Dungeon Runners

    7. Double-click config

    8. Double-click User.cfg. Open the file using Notepad.

You should see a heading that says [Display]. Directly under that heading, paste in the line:

    Pipeline = VFPF

Close the file and save the changes. Restart the game and see how it works!

This is a known issue with Geforce 3 cards and some ATI 9x00 cards.

This bug is being worked on.

On a side note if anyone else reads this:

Even if you are seeing the player models but have an older ATI or Geforce card I recommend doing it anyway. I had to for my ATI Radeon Saphire 9x series card for the models; but on my fiancee's computer (with an older GeForce, not sure what type) she had the models but it still ran like molasses. Putting that code in does help a bit.

Some people will have power house machines and it still runs kinda choppy at times....understand the devs are aware of it, and the engine is constantly being worked on to the best of their ability. I'm able to play on mine, even with the slower bits (but framerates usually improve out of town and in dungeons).

The pipeline edit also fixes problems with low framerates.

Haven't logged in to DR lately, but I believe the latest patch includes fixes for several graphics-related problems.
