I got burnt out in Burning Crusade... Finished the dungeons then you get to go back and do them again on heroic mode after grinding them for rep to do so. Did Karazhan but the loot from this next step in progression gives you gear with stats that are so menial the only real upgrade in the items is that they are colored purple. My guild friends and I started playing well before BC and we had honed our classes around old world content, now BC comes out and what used to be really usefull in our class make up has since been debuffed/useless.
We really want to start over in the game and give it one more try, but Blizzard refuses to open new servers until the ungodly ammount of servers they released at the beginning of Burning Crusade become medium Pop, That alone will never happen as its 4 to 1 horde to alliance ratio with 90% of the horde being Blood Elves. On that note, I bid WoW goodbye. Whether I come back if they ever open new servers is completely up in the air, as to whether the guildies I play with decide to roll again.
Before anyone flames we are not going to be a zerg guild that soaks up players and players.... We will grab players we see know how to play their class and keep guild size very small. Our guild mainly fell apart because everyone that wasnt in the A Team cried about never going on raids, so we try to bring them in but we soon found that while they could make it in MC/BWL because of the 40 man having huge margins for error, they no longer make the cut as they are willing to do nothing to better their characters outside of sitting around waiting to get into guild groups.
Unless you have a good Click of players in BC that you can regularly run with, you're kind of left in the cold to do PuGs will terrible players and makes grouping a huge headache. Another reason we want to start over.
In Short, if you wish to do well in BC, find players you are compatible with, you like, and you can figure problems out with, otherwise you'll get real sick of the Burning Crusade... PUGs got little to no chance of completing much in the expansion

So... I just came home with 2 Computer Gaming Mags so me and bro could try LOTRO see how that is cuz it seems to be a fun game. Account it ready to go Just gotta wait for the client to finish downloading. I think I'm gona like it.
Great - because the casual loot/quest rewards have some great stats.
Bad - because the casual loot/quest rewards have stats that are better than a lot of the dungeon/raid gear that I worked hard to earn pre BC.
The quest experience point are great, but it's almost as if they are too great. My thinking here is that you may end up leveling too quick thus maybe some of the burnout from the OP. But it is kind of nice because at least now my level 60's don't seem like they're stuck in molasses.
I had taken a break from WoW before BC, but I'm back into in now. I haven't hit any burnout yet. I've started up both a Blood Elf and a Dranei (sp?). I've been fortunate in running with some PUG that have been pretty good (because of the break I lost touch with any old running mates), haven't attempted any of the new raiding instances yet.
Overall I've liked the BC expansion. Sorry to hear that you've been bummed out by it. <lifts mug> Here's hoping that you and your friends don't give up entirely and that you find the fresh start.
I am pretty much done with Bliz. I have been a huge fan for a long time but they finally lost me.
I was an alpha tester for both the OG game and BC and I am just tired of the useless and endless nerfs. They (bliz) are under this false impression that by nerfing one class they can 'balance' it with others. But thats not what happens. A PvP nerf ruins a PvE build. A PvE buff ruins a PvP build. They need to stop with this stupidity and realize that different rules need to be in place for ALL skills depending on whether the target is an NPC or PC.
Add to that the fact that nothing is really new in BC. 10 levels, 8 zones and a couple skills. But in the end its the same grind to endgame when everything turns back into what it was before BC, raiding, just with less people now. So, instead of the top 10% raiding everyone can raid. Don't get me wrong here, as a casual player I was elated they made that choice. Gone are the days that they spend 1+years developing a raid instances they admit that only that top about 20% of their paying customers have a chance to even see.
However, they didn't really listen to the customers. We want MORE to do than just raiding. Player Housing would have been a GREAT addition to WoW. Player Cities and guild Wars would have opened a whole new angle to the gameplay. Instead they gave us more of the same with less people. Basically they pulled a LA/SOE Jedi mind trick.
Customer: What can I do if I don't want to be a Jedi?
LA/SOE: Well you can be a Jedi if you want to be.
Customer: But... if I don't want to be a Jedi, what can I do?
LA/SOE: Well, you don't have to be a full Jedi, so you can still kinda be a Jedi.
Customer: But... I don't want to be a Jedi...
LA/SOE: Well, you can be a Bounty Hunter and kill Jedi.
Customer: I DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH JEDIS!!!
LA/SOE: Ah, we get it.
Customer: Thank you, finally... So what can I do if I don't want to be a Jedi?
LA/SOE: Well with the new Jedi system EVERYONE can be a Jedi.
Customer: /quit
So, if you don't want to raid or do the arena you can always raid or do the arenas. There is basically nothing else to do in that game. At least with the .5 quests there was something other than raiding to do. And most of the quests were fun and challenging. Again, don't get me wrong. I think the 5 mans and the T4/5 stuff is fun and all... but pretty much, I am done with it already. Instance after instance after instance just to get 5 pieces of armor? That aren't even good for my build... no thanks.
I just wish more games were like OG SWG. Or Shadowbane.
/sigh
WoW, Ill miss you.
