I've read several posts on the game requiring some pretty heavy duty computers in order to run well. So for those that know a bit about hardware (I know just a little bit), how would this game run on a computer with:
Athlon 3200+
1 gig of RAM (I will probably upgrade to 2 gigs)
Radeon 9550, 256 mb
Cable connection
I've read the required and recommended specs, but from what I've read, even people with some serious gear are having problems running this game. My computer isn't the newest thing out there, but would this be able to handle the game with low to medium settings?
Thanks.

Their "recommended" specs is technically "required" specs.
Your rig should run the game fine at High Performance settings with a 14 fps cap.
If you tweak the hell out of your config file (which I do not recommend because of constant changes in the patches....not very friendly with molested config files) you may be able to squeeze another 6 to 10 fps out of your High Performance Setting (6 is more like it..10 is rare)
Very High Performance under your rig will yield around 25 fps (without molesting your config file) but everything will look really bad in terms of visual graphics.
Here's my Rig
**I got slower framerates with my Nvidia 8800 GTX versus my 7950 Nvidia (about a 10 fps difference)
With my current rig I was able to get my FPS at 20 with High Quality (second to the highest tier) and about 11 in the city with my 8800GTX
With my current rig I was able to get my FPS at 35 with Balanced (centered) and 30 High Quality and 20 (Balanced)in the city with my Geforce 7950 and 4 (High Quality)
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
from what i have been told and researched 8800's are a bit buggy. i have a friend that runs an AMD x2 overclocked to around 2.4gh , 2gigs ram, gforce7300gt , 160gig hd, I know another friend that runs a similar processor thats core2 duo model and a x1950 card with the same ram and he doesnt run as smooth as my friend running the 7300gt wich is a 128bit mem interface card as opposed to the 256bit mem interface x1950. I think its going to come down to wether you cpu is used for more than just gaming or not. The friend with the lower specs has xp corp addition and its stripped down there is absolutly nothing else on his system except the bare necessities to game. The friend with the higher specs has plenty of HD space but has a ton of programs for buisness and other games already on his system (has a 500gig hd).
I'm guessing it has alot to do with resources as far as minimizing what programs run in the background wether dormant programs or not. Ive seen forum posts where gamers running gforce6 series are playing with tweaked settings. I am personally hoping that when crossfire/sli support is recognized that me having 2 gforce7 series will help gameplay.
It would be nice to see some more spec's posted with fps in towns and open areas to give us an idea of the diversity.
