Q about Nightfall

muzzah2004muzzah2004 Member Posts: 64
So... I was thinking about picking up Guildwards, played it when it was released but didnt care for it but now I'm bored and thinking of picking it up, or at least I was.  Until I was told that if you buy Nightfall its only for Nightfall and you cant play the other 2/3 of the game.  So, is this true?

If so, I wont buy it because I'm not paying 50 bucks for 1/3 of a game and then having to pay 120 bucks to play the rest of the game, just wont happen.

If you purchace the Nightfall campaign, you can play the full game. Though, I think you see the ''full'' game as all three campains. The most wonderful thing, in my opinion, about Guild Wars is that you can play each of them withouth purchasing another version of it. Each campaign got a storyline.

Yes, you can play the whole game if you only purchace Nightfall

No, you cannot enter either Tyria or Cantha if you only have purchaced the Nightfall campaign.

I hope this anwsered your question. If not, please leave a quote in this thread.

Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall are all standalone games, you do not need the others. But if you have one (or both) of the other campaigns, your characters are able to go back and forth between each campaign. If you only have one campaign, you cannot travel to one you don't have, just like a WoW player can't go to Outlands without buying The Burning Crusade.

Depends what you consider "beating" the game. If you mean hitting the level cap, you're missing the point of Guild Wars entirely. Levels have very little to do with the game, the only thing 20 means is that you should be able to survive and have enough skills available to be useful/helpful to your group, whether in PvE or PvP. GW intentionally makes it easy to hit 20 so you can leave "noob island" and enjoy the real content.

If your only idea of a game is grinding xp to level, then you should look elsewhere...

Once you break through that belief that level = power you are set.

That belief is false anyone because everyone knows or should know that steel = power (Conan fans anyone?)

As the focus is on PvP, you can't beat it in a day. Come to think of it, can anyone beat PvP at all?

If you want grind, you could always farm and become wealthy.

I also agree. The game is not about levels at all. Hell, you get to level 20 and there's still monsters that will kick your ass from one end of the world to the other if you give them half a chance.

Well, if you still don't want to spend $50 on Nightfall, then go pick up the first one (plainly titled Guild Wars) for anywhere from $20 to $30. Then, if you decide you like it, you can pick up Nightfall later and play through that game with the same character.
