to be really honest .. in 10 days u willl only barely touch what eve is about .... to really grasp this game is take time .... because eve is not a fast paced game ... also it depends what u wanna do in game agents missions , mine , hunt pirates ... trader .... you can become whatever u wanna be .....
But unless you do allot of reading and make a plan ahead of time, you won't do anything all that productive during that amount of time.
It takes a bit time to really good at something, but that's rather normal for the genre. The biggest difference between EvE and everything else is the amount of "required" time. Since skill advance on there own, based on RL time, if your log-in in or not, elimits the tredmill, you play for as much or as little as you wish.
You'll only need to log in once every couple days to start new skills to "keep up".

Well yeah if you play alot for 10 days you could get a feel for it but i recomend you find some mining partners so you will be quicker to get on a better ship
