Yes the Warpriest is the frontline support class. The chants wont reach the tanks from the backrow, and you wont gain divine fury by sitting in the back not using your hammer (but you will gain morale by winning and healing!)
I have played tank heavy groups for a while. People told me I was "dumb" to want to run 3 warriors in warcraft and my first daoc group was 7 tanks and me.
I would love to see how nicely a runepriest, 4 hammer,s a warpriest and an ironbreaker would workout. Actually you would prob need another ironbreaker in the front line to protect the warpriest. I know the "PICTURES" show this well armored in plate battlemonger in a them, but your ACTUALLY wearing cloth, no helm and a brestplate (which pretty much puts you around the studded armor range) Blocking, "shieldin" and taunting people off you so you dont get taken out while in the front line.
Yes I said "taunt". Works very well in this game. Ironbreaker and Black Orks can yell at enemies and lower the damage they deal to all other targets other than themselves by about 60%. So its not like CC or they force you to attack, it just leaves you with no other real option other than to attack. (no you cant spam it, because you need action points to use it)
It seems optimal for the tank heavy blender group. And also gives you a 2nd healer. You would just have to stop attacking to save up action points to heal though, and Im not sure how that would work. The class is frontline aid for tanks, not just in the game but in the warhammer universe.
In the history of the Old World, the religion of Sigmar has not been around for nearly so long as that of the old gods of Taal, Morr and Ulric, and there are plenty of other deities worshipped (or reviled) in the Warhammer world as well. However, what was once the Cult of Sigmar has become the dominant faith in the Empire, with the Hammer and the Gryphon as its holy symbols.
Historically, Sigmar was a great warrior, son of a powerful human tribe, who assisted the Dwarves in many battles against the invading Orcs and Goblins, and first united the human tribes into the Empire. The Imperial calendar starts with his inauguration as its first Emperor as Year 1.
The exact details of Sigmar's reign are unknown. The only surviving historical records of that time were those kept by the Dwarves; of Sigmar's life, they were only concerned with how it affected Dwarven interests. He left no heir, and indeed it is not known how he died; the last known account of him was that at some point he set his crown aside and journeyed eastward, disappearing without a trace.
Within a generation, a cult began to develop, claiming Sigmar's deity, and over the many centuries, it grew to compete with the followings of the old gods. Eventually, with the coronation of Magnus the Pious in the year 2304 came official sanction of the worship of Sigmar as the religion of the Empire.
Although there are still those who adhere to the old religions -- most notably the Knights of the White Wolf, who pledge their lives to Ulric -- most citizens of the Empire make the sign of the Hammer upon their chests in sign of devotion to Sigmar. Many are those who have dedicated their lives to becoming priests and priestesses -- not mere scribes and clerics, but warriors and warrioresses wielding blessed warhammers in Sigmar's name in the never-ending fight against the forces of Chaos.
Blessings of Sigmar
Warrior Priests of the Cult of Sigmar call upon Blessings from Sigmar in the same way that Wizards cast spells, except that they do not expend components in so doing. A beginning Warrior Priest knows one Blessing, which is chosen from the Warrior Priest's Book of Blessings. (the thing the Chosen warrior cuts off in the video)
The Warrior Priest may invoke a number of Blessings per Expedition equal to the total number of Blessings he knows. Blessings may be invoked additional times, by spending one Fate Point per invocation.
Additional Blessings may be learned by making a donation of 200 GCs to the Temple between expeditions. (No more than one new Blessing may be learned per expedition.) Alternately, a Warrior Priest may permanently expend a Fate Point to gain a new Blessing as a miracle from Sigmar, which he may use immediately.
Classification
Though Warrior Priests cast spells differently and have no use for material components, in all other respects they are considered another type of Wizard for game purposes.
Special Restrictions
Warrior Priests may only use warhammers as weapons (one- or two-handed) and must always wear holy vestments. For armor, they can only wear a specially-made ornamental brestplate.
I'm totally digging the dwarf hammerer. When I read through my old Warhammer Armies books (mainly the dwarf army one) the hammerers are explained to be the elite guards of the dwarf king. They are probably going to be a fun melee DPS class with their light to medium armor and crazy two-handed hammers.
You best be watching out for me in the pvp/RvR zones, because I surely can find an entry in the Book of Grudges that shows you in a bad light!
PS - It's not a surprise to see the warpriest and the witch hunter as the top choices so far, I figure the masses will be drawn to those.
Think ill either play as a priest of sigmar or, as has already been said, remain undecided until I see what the High elves have to offer.
But I am most definitely going to play order.

Nah,the shield dwarf will probably be one of the first to get love patch.they wont stop assist nukes and most players prefere damage over new gimmics.the 2 healer rear, warpriest with 3 dps up front is more likely.if 2 healers ,plus his own heals cant keep him alive then its a' "hope for a patch class."
I'll Definantly be playing a runepriest. I love the idea of runes and seals as ancient magic. I also like playing the support role. I think the runepriest will suit me just fine.
much more groupability too, with tactics slots you could prolly run 3 in a grp ok.There's still the 50k question on the elf support class.but im guessing decent armor, maybe faster casts, and some grp enhancements.im thinking they might have less damage spell lines than runecaster.theres a really good chance the way it looks that elfs are getting the best all around true support type.
but runecaster is a safe bet too.It will definately be in high demand.
Warrior-Priest here. I love healing people, helping them out in their most dire moments and the respect it commands when you are good at it. Plus I like meeting people when you help them out and they are grateful, offer thanks and strike up a conversation.

I love huge beards, huge explosives, big guns, little guns, cannons. Something tells me I should pick the Engineer carreer.
There does seem to be a huge attraction to the war priest class. I hope the % of carreers played will balance out at the release. I'm looking forward to see the Witch Hunter's options in WAR.

I mean, I get to torture people until they confess and then punish them. Besides, how can you not like the hat?

I've been playing the Table Top game for nearly a Decade, and I've always loved the Empire, especially their history and the Cult of Sigmar.
Now to be able to actually play A Warrior Priest in a PvP MMO. Some chaos better be doing some serious repenting soon.
