I stopped playing after my "free" time was up. One of the many reasons I quit was that the armor looked like shiney plastic. So just wondering if its been changed. Hmm you know come o think of it m dwarfs beard looked like plastic also. Maybe it was the shampoo he used?
"I'm sorry but your mmo has been diagnosed with EA and only has X number of days to live."
Yes Sigil dip all their armour in a nice shiny coat of oil mixed with polish. It comes with your game purchase. This is their way of showing their appreciation to the customers .
Currently Playing: Everything but MMORPGs Cancelled: L2, FFXI, VSoH, LotRO, WAR, WoW Looking Forward To: SW:TOR

Everything still looks the same as when you left, yes.
Why should they have metal looking armor, when the player models are made out of plastic?
But enough of this blasphemy, this is VANGUARD, the only triple A title of 2007 with groundbreaking graphics and gameplay! And by groundbreaking they mean angry players will throw all kinds of heavy stuff at their floor, when they realize they were rolled back, lost huge xp or important items.

First what is triple A?
Second, that frustration is what thrives me in games. And others, my exguildleader in WoW threw his computer down by the stairs after decent amount of whiping (yes noone is letting him forget it). Oh no wait youre talking about bugs I was thinking things working as intended

Triple A is a loosely translated defintion of a high visible, highly publicized, high dollar MMO that is usually a catalyst or role model for other MMOs
Also, everyone also have a high expectation of what triple As should have....also, it is usually objective.
The frustration in Vanguard is not a frustration that will thrive you. Trust me, I know exactly what you mean but Vanguard's frustrations are within areas than you think. But to the original question about the armor and plastic...yes. Sadly, it is looking very much like plastic. Well...more like shiney vinyl than plastic.

Thats got to be one of the stupidest things you haters say . Is ken and barbie that fresh in your memory kid ,adjust your vidieo options a bit if it isnt to tough for you
Makes the armor look more real instead of painted on textures if you ask me. I can't grasp how someone could have such a lacking attention span to quit a game because their armor had a slight shine to it. lol
Yup Sigil have still over bump-mapped everything just becuase they could, they are like a kid with a new toy when it comes to bump mapping.
I think what happened was one of their below average programmers copy'n'pasred some Visual basic bump mapping code and from then on its been bumpmap town.
i completley agree with the OP... because every single game should be judged upon graphics and how the armor looks, oh and make sure that grass is swaying the direction of the wind, cuz if thats not the case the game sucks... who cares if the game is enjoyable to play and actually hard to achive something, and progress rather then getting everything handed to ya on a silver platter......
yep thats the reason i dont play this game, the armor looks like plastic.
wow, so you learned the word "bump map" and now wish to include it in every sentence you type.
Hey dude, go design and program a game and publish it and have it sell in major retail stores then come back here and spout all of your almighty programming knowledge.

And that would prove what? was I incorrect with bump mapping? sigil do bumpmap every... fact.
And as to selling in retail store, VG is NOT selling in retail stores, a few did but most are gathering dust, you wont see VG in retail stores in a few months, it will all be downloads.

Triple A is a loosely translated defintion of a high visible, highly publicized, high dollar MMO that is usually a catalyst or role model for other MMOs
Triple A MMOs examples are:
EQ, EQ2, SWG, UO, (supposedly Vanguard), FFXI, etc
Also, everyone also have a high expectation of what triple As should have....also, it is usually objective.

I think the Armor and artwork is uninspiring.
