So long as the loot from a player in PvP is not that player's belongings, then I can deal with it. It'd be weird, though.
I think this is the case in Lineage 2; the gankers kill other players to get their gear. Plus, the defeated player loses XP, and can actually be ganked backwards as many levels as the opponent sees fit. Now, if that isn't screwed up, then I don't know what is.

But what if it were (the player's belongings)? Even if it were a small chance of you dropping your stuff when you get killed, wouldn't that make it more interesting? I think that would motivate you to not die more.
There are a lot of restrictions we can put in to keep it balanced: only backpack items can be dropped, drops only happen in arenas, etc.

Even if it were a small chance, you'd get people ganging up on you and rapid killing you until either you had nothing left or you logged out. Yeah, sounds like loads of fun to me. Gank or be ganked. We could call it Gank Wars.
I dont really have a ton of hope for GW2... I loved GW because it was so amazingly unique and simple yet amazingly complex. GW2 seems to be jumping into the traditional mmorpg pool .
So uh... I dunno what I want to see. I hope they keep the skill system feeling innovative. Most of the other things I liked about GW1 will almost surely be gone. I like mounts but mmorpgs dont really do them justice, just making them a fancy animation/time sink/way to travel faster/way to catch and gank other players, and I doubt GW2 will do mounts justice either.
if they choose to keep the skill system as it is :
improved visual and auditory skill animations. they can let us choose a voice set for our characters at the creation and when my character uses skill "charge" i can hear it say charge. Elites can have more complex animations with them, mist form actually turning you into a misty form etc.
added skills which impede vision which can make people outside cant target the ones inside and the ones inside cant see a thing.
skills that dont require targets. there are already a few that dont need target but they affect your vicinity only. I want to be able to cast meteor shower at a location.
if they are going for a more traditional mmorpg they should add crafting, non-combat abilities etc.
Please move character names above toons, and a different color from dark blue (one that doesnt blend in with environment). When I play i focuse above and ahead of my toon, this makes it very hard to me to see other ppls names unless i stop and try to stare at ground. I believe something simple like this would allow for better community interaction. In other MMOs I have got to know ppl by remembering a name that I see run past me several times in passing during the week. But in GW's case I remember no one due to not seeing thier names as they pass unless I stop, look down, and squint to try and figure out what the name is hidden in that blue box of crap.
I aggree with the "try before you buy" deal with the armor. I think it is entirely possible, if you consider going along the same lines as the current dye system, where you can see how your armor will look with a certain color. I don't see why a similar system regarding armor couldn't be established. Also, i dont remember in any of the dev interviews i read for GW2 about there being mounts to use, i like the idea though.
Life is 10% what happens and 90% how you react to it!
Try before you buy = alt-tab and check out a fan site's screenshot galeries
Joke aside it would still be nice (and just like the above poster said, something is already in game for dyes, maybe in a few updates it'll be in GW1?)
Mounts? Well there should be a reason for them. And in other games I've played mounts were for 1. making travel a tiny wee bit less time wasting and pointless 2. impressing lowbies. If GW2 keeps the "open map, click, done" philosophy, mounts will still be uneeded IMO.
Looting players in PvP? Maybe tokens then, collector stuff... Again, keeping the current system for gear would make player looting way too deterring. First you'd loot customized items (unusable by your own character), second I doubt anyone would dare dropping any rare and/or expensive rune/insignia on their armor.
Things I'd like to see:
More stringent system to get rid of abusers: spammers, leechers, rage quitters...
More interaction with the environment, like being able to chop down a tree to cover a retreat or make a temporary bridge over a river...
Otherwise, same things that got me hooked to GW in the first place: no uber items, low grind, no mandatory expansion to remain competitive in PvP etc...
LordSlater out of this forum. Dude, we got it, you don't like GW, ok? Your unconstructive comments are unneeded and unwanted here. Just like yourself. Thanks.
From what I understand of Guild Wars, a class has 1 primary attributes and some secondary attributes. right?
What about an option to create customizeable classes. You would choose 1 primary attributes from the list of all primary attributes for all pre made classes. Then you would choose 5 secondary attributes from all available secondary attributes. This covers both your primary and secondary classes.
If there is still limitation on armor and looks, then you would choose the class model for your character looks and armor. For example, archer looks.

I don't know if they have this already in GW1, but the ability to have an epic battle where maybe 5 guilds storm a castle or a dungeon. Or maybe armies battling armies, like a mock Medieval style battle. Both PvP and PvE epic battle.

From what I understand, they are making the environment more interactive. For instance you can chose to help defend a village against a dragon (read this somewhere but can't remember exactly where) by using a ballista to shoot it down, or you can chose not to help defend the village, and let the dragon destroy stuff, then when the builders come, you can defend their carts of supplies from would-be attackers.
They are making the world (for the most part) non instanced and raising the level cap.
I don't PvP so none of that really interests me. I quit playing GW 1 because once you do all the missions and get to endgame, there's not really a whole lot to do except roll another toon and do it all over again. That's boring to me. And before all you PvPers jump down my throat, I will be the first to admit I'm terrible at PvP. It frazzles my nerves and I can't really handle it, so I stay away from it. I don't like random "do what you want" PvP or even PvE. I like to have something specific to do like "go to X and stay there and defend it" or something along those lines. Just running around following after everyone like a lost little puppy who ends up getting killed (more than once) is definitely not fun to me.

Immature != can't afford. You can be a spoiled 13-year old or a 35-year old with a high-paying job and be immature, either way.

That's pretty much the Factions-specific PvP matches.
