I was thinking of this when i was playing Age of Empires 3 with my friends. I was thinking maybe some one could make a mmo In a time in between the age of exploration and post French Indian war. There would be player housing and P.V.E combat would be based like a FPS, (like one shot kill idea, not first person.) but P.V.P combat would differ. you can pick factions like Spain, England, France , Germany and many more. Indians would be neutral, but can be hired as mercenaries. As for quests I would prefer epic chain quests that split into more chains. Noobie quests would be starting in your home nation and doing quests to get to the new world.

A lot of people just probably wouldn't hook onto it or even give it a try.
Today it seems like MMOs are mostly Blowing up stuff, stuck in a fantasy world of orcs and elves, or SCI-FI related space things.
Not too many if any pioneer based MMOs on a global scale.
I think that a MMORTS in that setting would be really cool, I'm not sure about trying to control only one character though...the setting just doesn't seem to be very conducive to being a single character and really accomplishing anything significant. I can definitely see it as something where you build up a village with a functioning economy and things of that nature...PVP would be difficult to balance though, since a lot of people would be into the noob ganking scene...but there is a lot of PvE exploration potential there I think.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
It''s all good though.
Cheers.
