since RedwoodSap persists in bumping his lies (GnH now listed on SOE stationpass) with regard to PEs upcoming GnH release, in the hope that the other emo kids are too dumb or lazy to look through the falsehood that his link has nothing to do with Station Pass
here is PEs official position from their FAQ
What's up with SOE? They're taking over your company and your game!
We have stated numerous times that this is not the case. Our official stance is as follows:
From Deo's Blog for 03.08.06"Perpetual Entertainment's service is self-contained [?] I know some of you have asked if this game is being offered through SOE?s Station and will it require a Station account to access? Being that our relationship with SOEPP is as a co-publisher, we will not be part of the Station and all subscriptions will subsequently be handled through Perpetual Entertainment as part of our game service.
Official Announcement
"?[Perpetual Entertainment will] handle everything internally, from hosting the game servers, to account services/billing, to technical support, and working with the community. This means that Platform Publishing will be handling retail marketing, PR, manufacturing, and our North American distribution."

"?we are working with them, we're the publisher they're both the developers and the co-publishers, it's really their game and we're here to help get the game out there and to back them up on things that they need help with."
I don't believe you, [insert conspiracy theory here]!
There's an old adage that goes, "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all of the people all of the time." With that said, we have allowed the community a healthy amount of time to express their concerns, ideas, and thoughts regarding this matter. A lot of you have really shown excellent maturity and we commend you on recognizing the fact that Perpetual is here to give you a game and a service that we can all be proud of!

so of course they are going to draw a correlation.... doesn't mean its true...
but then again..why do you care what they say or think?

SOE did have an impact on their game... they invested $millions to give Sigil extra time to develop it, and in part of the deal for the extra cash they paid for the right to host it and list on station pass. there are no parallels with PE or GnH here
without their funding there would be no VSOH, the fact that it is a buggy bag of crap is entirely down to Sigil since SOE did not develop the game
i dont care what the emo kidz think - i do care that they are rubbishing a game they know nothing about, and try to scare away other potential gamers because they have an agenda against SOE
And you seem to have an agenda to protect SOE. I see little difference between you and the person you were discrediting.
Frankly I think it's reasonable for a logical person to be wary of investing their time in any MMOG that SOE is associated with based on past examples. Vanguard has proven that promises of limited SOE involvement by Sigil staff have become false.
its seems to me that Platform Publishing's creative input is retail marketing, other than that their duties are printing disks and distribution.
of course the few people who want to blame SOE for all the world's ills - will continue their blinkered view that VG was somehow ruined by them (contrary to any pesky 'reality'), and that they will ruin GnH too
Despite the fact that this flies in the face of that same 'pesky reality' that SOE's involvement starts and ends with one of their divisions just doing the nuts and bolts of getting boxes on shelves for people to buy
ah well... im off to key some cars and kidnap peoples pets which SOE will get the blame for

"Vanguard has proven that promises of limted SOE involvement by Sigil staff have become false"
So becauase of that one occurance SOE will forever be deeply involved in any game theyre ever involved in? Thats alot to say for this to have happened only once. Take a logic class ace.
Your blowing Xauss's comments way out of proportion. He was just clearing up a misunderstanding that SOE is not supposed to effect GnH like it did to Vanguard (however much that was). Its obvious he doesnt like SOE but thats not the point."So becauase of that one occurance SOE will forever be deeply involved in any game theyre ever involved in? Thats alot to say for this to have happened only once. Take a logic class ace."
Maybe you don't value your time and money. I do. If you had the kind of experiences many of us have had with SOE in SWG and the situation developing with Vanguard, you might wake up.
no tetchy is spot on - because of the CU and NGE on SWG that ruined the game for many players, they now seem to have a life mission to blame anything and everything on SOE... such as VSOH's shortcommings
of course a large corporation with its finger in many pies, you can find other faults if you look hard enough, and if you send many pointless tickets to customer service departments or willfully misinterpret what they are doing, individuals employed by SOE might find it difficult to maintain a freindly 'corporate face' to those determined to be an ass.
pretty much everyone realises that MS were to publish VSOH, but for whatever reasons extracated themselves from the deal. They alowed Sigil to buy back the publishing rights (no doubt at a loss to MS) to seek new partners. It would seem that SOE were the only ones willing or able to put in enough money to enable Sigil to continue development. they were willing to do this despite the overrun on costs and deadlines that were largely responsible for MS dropping VSOH.
with hindsight maybe SOE should have stayed away and let VSOH die, since they are now tarred with Sigil's shitty stick and invested in a game performing well below subscriber expectations. it was always known that SOE would host the servers and put the game on stationpass as soon as it was known that they would be the new partners, freeing up those hardware and bandwith costs from Sigil, and allow them to concentrate on completing the game - which for better or worse is exactly what they have done
now we come to PEs GnH, which is a game that has been winning E3 and GDC awards and pretty universally well received by 'independent' gaming industry writers. there has been no fallout between developers and publishers, and to date development is within 'normal' parameters for delays (as far as we know)...
Platform Publishing will do its bit of printing the disks and boxes, distributing them to retailers and handle the point of sale marketing and advertising. PE will continue to be the developers, host the servers and customer service, and additionally provide much of the online marketing to 3rd party sites such as MMORPG.com and gamers magazines.
