I know there is already an invite thread...but I think most of us just got lost in the pile. I played during beta and had a terrible time because of all the bugs and d/c's, but I've heard good things since the release and would really like to give it another chance to see if it's worth buying now. Can anyone help me out with a trial / buddy pass? I'd greatly appreciate it!!
Contact me through mail on here or at Stringboi@hotmail.com
Again...many thanks!!

LOL
You've heard some good things about his game since the release you say? Say what? /shakes head in amazement
Where? Certainly not in these forums. Or maybe you're talking about another game maybe. Yeah, that's it, that's the ticket, another game, yeah.
Certainly not in these forums, because they are overrun with chowderheads.
O.P., g/l with the buddy pass. Vanguard isn't for the drooling masses, but those who like it like it a lot.
And no, I'm not saying if you don't like Vanguard you're stupid. However if you hate it and still come to it's forums, I am saying you are.
You might have better luck at Silkyvenom. Mostly trolls here as you can see.
Good luck. Hope you get a key and can try it out. Personally, I love the game.

Joining a game that is failing by industry standards is not an attractive proposition however The prospect of an open world without all of the "Training wheels" other more successful MMOs have and the opportunity or open or factional PVP makes it hard to resist.
If not for the fact that the game would run like a slide show on my system I would be very keen to try it out just for the PVP aspect that is really lacking in most games like WOW or LOTRO.

Agreed, we should be worshipped on these forums.
That's right, you read it correct the first time. mr ~~
Yes I actually am a LOTRO founder and I play it but I am still unimpressed. I played WOW from day one for over a year and instanced PVP is shit. I do not care for either system. PVP should be readily available in the existing world not some instance. As Far as monster play goes I dont want my PVP limited to one little area where I have to play some psuedo character if I want to play on the evil side.
They screwed up when they didnt include evil races as playable and open facction PVP servers. At least VG has PVP servers and the opportunity to do it in the same area that you play the rest of the game in.

OP if any of my guildies have a key I will try to get one for you. Might be late though.
Please stay on topic. If you can't help the OP with a key, then refrain from replying. I'm sure there are other topic here to post appropriately.

Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.
Well Yukki, I am a game fan and to be honest I hate begging posts. Money needs to be pumped into games if we are to see any future outside of 3rd rate freebies. VG performance issues notwithstanding, if people are not willing to put their hand in their pockets and support the MMO or general PC game genre then I dont see why I, or anyone, should do it for them.
Before I played online games I would buy 2/3 games a month each costing the same as a boxed MMO game. Nowadays Id be lucky to find 2 or 3 PC games in an entire year that are worth my £££s.
Let's stop encouraging the free2play/free to trial-crap. If we dont then F2P games may be the only option left for PC gamers.
Thanks again all
The honest opinion is its better but it could be a lot better still.
Beta was pretty terrible in performance, currently I get lag as the game caches initially and very occasionally I get a graphics lag spike.
Some of the newbie areas upto around 30th have had a lot of work on them and are much better in performance and content.
>30th level and the game needs updating, although a fair amount of content is still respectable, some areas have specific spots with huge lag spikes or poor content. Sigil have been addressing these areas with every patch, things are getting better and better.
As a whole the game is steadily improving, some people call this a paid beta but I take a more practical view point and say, "what game is perfect on release that isn't as simplistic as you can make it?" answer, no game (except of course the simple ones).
If your prepared to wait, then give it another month or so, if you are not very hardcore in play style its probably worth starting now as its a hard game to level in.
As an example, you cant play this game on an Nvidia 7600 graphics card and expect amazing graphics on the models and environment, go for balanced and you will be find it playable and looking half descent.
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
This is why I'm willing to give it another chance!!
The game is fun at first, but as im slowly realizing is that once your level hits in the 40's things seem to slow way down, there is a real lack of content for levels 40+, right now the only quests I seem to find for my level is to go to a temple and kill 100 mobs which are level 50 five dotters
Since i've ran into this, I've been concentrating on crafting, crafting is fairly easy at first, but now that i've reached level 32 blacksmith its becoming a living hell, Biggest problem is trying to find gear to increase my stats so I have half a chance to complete a work order and get XP, as it is now Im lucky to get Grade C items on Moderate work orders which don't give out much XP, its gotten so painfull to craft due to the little amount of XP you get i've pretty much given up on crafting also... Not to mention that being an armorsmith your pretty much screwed when it comes to sell your goods since you can only put 10 items on the broker... Would be nice if they would hurry up and put personal venders in the game...
I've found myself starting a new charater becuase i've just realized that the only fun part of the game is the early levels.... I've got one month left on my subscription and I doubt ill be renewing... Although I did have a few fun months playing, I just dont see much to do once you get close to the level cap, maybe ill check back in 6 months, hopefully by then they will have more content in the game..
Anyways, best of luck to you in playing Vanguard, I think you'll have fun for the 1st month or so...
Fair enough string.
I suppose the "should you return or not" question is better anwered if you were tell us exactly what "crappy" means. If you're thinking there are radical changes to gameplay then you will be disappointed - Im playing the very same game Ive been playing since beta 3 despite a couple of class revamps.
If your issue was solely performance then perhaps you will have better luck now. Although, like Coldmeat, I havent experienced any improvement and, despite getting more fps now, the last couple of patches have made the game a bit draggy for me. I will update my 1gb RAM when I get back from Greece.
See you all in a week
(and I'm not saying you are a gold farmer, but I have no way to verify it either way)
Which is why I suggested you consider just buying a copy..it really isnt that much money, especially if you can afford the computer that will play VG well.

As far as performance goes:
AMD 4800+ dual core, 2gb pc2700, Nvidia 7950gt 512mb, soundblaster X-fi
I've got sound off in the game, and am running winamp, and I have firefox open to mmorpg.com, as well as all the random crap running in the background for my G15, and whatnot.
In Kojan I was running at around 35-40 fps at very high-ish settings. Most things are turned up/on with the exception of volumetric clouds, shadows, and grass/foliage, which are probably some of the biggest framerate eaters, at least for me.
Going into Tanvu itself, my framerate drops to around 16-26 fps, until I get near the crafting area, at which point it tanks into the single digits, roughly getting 8-12 fps. This varies from town to town for some reason. It's bad in Tanvu, Leth Narae(sp?), Hathor Zhi. Khal I'm not sure about because I was running video capture software when I was there last time.
The Dwarf city, I didn't notice any drop in fps, same for Tursh, the Wood Elf city, and Goblin/Orcs. Don't remember any slow down in the other cities either, though I do take a framerate hit in the Halfling starter area.
He's getting a load of crap from people who haven't played the game LATELY someone said.
So, what you're saying is if you played it lately you wouldn't be saying anything bad about this game? How's that? What has changed so much that people wouldn't say anything negative about this game?
I'm curious to know, really. This game has made a complete turnaround? No more bugs, no more empty content, no more hassles looking for groups, no more....??????? The list goes on and on.
What's the big difference now? I mean to make a statement like that one should be able to explain it then.
