i have never played populas, but i really recommend wurm if u want to smthing else besides killing some mobs.. U can do everything in Wurm (build ur house, cook ur food, make ur own tools etc). Try it for sure
It is crafting intensive and the fighting system almost plays a secondary role. There is open PvP on the Wild Server so you can be the bane of society or the savior of humaniity.
If you are thinking of the same populous games as i am it's nothing like them. Probably at least 40 different skills you can raise and getting one nearly maxed out takes close to a year since it gets exponentially slower to level. You tend to spend alot of time sitting around crafting unless you join a major town that has a support system for warriors.
You could also call it Settlers Online. Except you are a settler - you can multitask everything or get in a trade sphere and buy what you need. You can get in a village and get a role if you want. Lastly you can move miles from anyone and make a shack and hunt or just enjoy the scenery and the huge spiders.
Ah, good ol' huge spiders. I keep a piece of all big creatures I kill in a little locked chest inside my shack. Ever spider, crocodile, bear, black bear, wild boar I help kill I butcher it and get myself a piece of their flesh, some say its crazy but its the memory of my time in Wurm that matters. I do a lot more combat now since the reset and its a game worth playing if you want something great out of it.
