After looking at some in game movies/trailers on youtube I have fallen even more in love with tabula rasa. I hope it runs very smoothly with little lag. The action its so fast! I am worried about the system reqs the game will have. Got my fingers crossed. I really think this game has more potential than any mmo in produtcion by far.

well currently the systems specs listed for the game are
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
* Windows® 2000/XP/Vista
* 512 MB System RAM
* 2.5 GHz Intel® Pentium® 4 or equivalent AMD processor
* 128 MB Direct3D and Shader 2.0 compatible video card and DirectX 9.0 compatible driver
* 8x DVD-ROM drive
* 4.6 GB free hard disk space
* DirectX 9.0c
* DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card
* Keyboard, Mouse
* Broadband Internet connection
RECOMMENDED SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS:
* Windows 2000/XP/Vista
* 3.5 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent AMD processor
* 2 GB System RAM
* ATI X1800 series, NVIDIA® GeForce 7800 series, or higher 3.0 Shader compliant video card
Even the recommended specs are for a system thats like 12 months old. So if you have better than the recommended you should expect to get good performance.
Of course its still 6 months to go - so they may update these.

Give us more info than that, if you were in beta you arent now so open up alittle. The narrated video showed combat being quite different than NGE, of course I wasnt playing just watching.
"Either they treat it like a first-person shooter and start jumping up and down and zigzagging, thinking it will make a difference, which it doesn't. What we have to educate people to is that the targeting is "sticky," you still have to aim through the reticle, say I'm going to shoot you, and if he runs under cover, you still need to move so you can get a bead on him, but the targeting reticle sticks to who you mean to be targeted to, so it's not an arcade game... It's getting people to realize now that it's neither extreme of the mind numbing whack-a-mole, nor the dexterity-based jump-up-and-down-and-zigzag. It becomes now tactical—where I really need to consider what group of opponents they are, how they are going to move, what's their sensitivity, how smart are they and therefore now I'm going to make judgments as to what I'm going to do."
" Using cover is key. Underneath the light-show, the same MMO dice-rolls and saving throws take place, but they also take into consideration the lay of the land. Pop out and shoot from behind a balustrade and you'll receive stat increases. Charge straight in, and you'll receive scorchmarks."
"Tabula Rasa is a real-time tactics game. ...If you and I were fighting, the game is full of sand bags. If you and I were fighting, we would do equal damage to each other. If I were to step behind a sand bag, I would take a lot less damage. If I squat down, I can get an easier bead and I am taking...less damage. The monsters know that too. If you’re in a tactically superior position, they will come around and kick you to the ground because they know while you are squatting you are a much more vulnerable hand to hand target. It’s all still done with die rolls like an RPG. It’s still my equipment and my character’s attributes that affect the calculation on damage. So instead of looking at my user interface, I have to watch the behavior of the creatures."
Thats the problem I had with WoW, I would constantly look at my UI instead of paying attention to the fight. I'm really looking forward to this type of UI and fighting =D
Why? Richard Garriott says the exact same thing in the videos that have been posted for quite some time. Tons of hotbars, there's no reason to watch the game when you just tab-lock onto your target, he's probably spending his time looking at his hotbars.
Or if he's a healer, they do nothing but stare at health bars all day anyway. I enjoyed healing in WoW when I was a dev on the QuickHeal addon before 2.0 killed it, but doing it manually (yes, I did it to 60 manually before I used any addons) most of the time I felt I was missing what was actually happening, I was missing whatever content there was because I rarely got to look away from health bars.
This guy is saying he's looking forward to TR because he can watch and play the game, not watch and play the UI, that's all.
Well it didnt confuse me, I still remember most strats for the game, but I would be looking at my UI more then say, listening to people report whats happening or looking for anything abnormal
In grimboj's defense, if he thought the game was so bad after 10 minutes then it hardly gives him incentive to play any further.

You can not say a game sucks if you only play it for 10 minutes. That is no where near enough time to judge a game.
Ok thats my 2 cents.
I've been on a gaming ventrilo for over 5 years now and we've had a guy on there that can't stick to a video game for more than a week, and even that whole week he's usually complaining, never saying anything good. He's hopped game to game, and he's always saying how the next game coming out will be good, then we all try that one and he's always the first one gone. Some people are just like that. Ironically, he quit a great paying job that he got after only 2 weeks because of a minor argument. It's just the way some people are wired.
Hopefully they'll have some kind of open beta soon.
Combat is shooter like, not typical WoW or any MMORPG that i have played.
Some like that, for me its a pass.

The combat is great and yes you need some power in the computer.
TR just need some more then just combat and it will be perfect for me.
at launch there will be
- some form of crafting in game
- some form of pvp
- no vehicles - possibly in an expansion
- no individual housing - maybe clan - or I could be completely wrong on this one.
