8.1 suddenly from 6.9 ?
If NCSoft sent its employees then this is just weak.
this game sucks, even 100 NCSoft employees cant change that.

It's the community here, it happens to every game that launches, people create multiple accounts to get their favorite game above everyone elses. Give it a couple weeks to hit rock bottom again. This game isn't even worth mentioning, let along playing.
The rating was 7.9 not 6.9, so get your facts straight.
If you don't like the game, then say so and leave. What's the point of accusing anyone of manipulating the rating?
Does it annoy you so much that someone likes a game you don't?

I'm leaving this thread, the op is a misanthrope, apparently.
1) The fact that you don't like the game doesn't mean that the people that do like the game are faking ratings.
2) The ratings are based on this game's merits and/or detriments, not how the game compares to other games.
3) The overall rating comes from an average of several ratings categories. As of the time I post this:
Graphics - 8.0 - Personally, I like the graphics - they fit well with the humorous theme of the game. Also, graphics don't have to be realistic... Some of the high-end mobs are wicked looking...
Fun - 8.2 - I agree. I think the game is lots of fun! Obviously, "fun" is in the eye of the beholder.
Sound - 7.8 - love the npc voices, dig the dungeon-specific music and like the ambient effects
Community - 7.9 - so far, the community is really great! I've been playing since December and am very active in the community.
Role-playing - 6.8 - I can see why this score is lower. There's little-to-no roleplaying going on by players. That being said, you can make your character into any role or class you want - it's open ended.
Performance/Lag - 9.0 - the game works great for me, even with all the graphics turned up and at 1920X1200 resolution. Controls are sluggish, but controls aren't "performance"
Value - 8.8 - well, at minimum, the game is FREE. How could it not be worth that.? How could the value get any better? At most, it's $5/month, which is still more entertainment value/$ than you get from a 2-hour matinee....
Service - 8.6 - the devs actively play and chat with the players and they incorporate suggestions from players into the game on a regular basis. Kitsune and other official bug-whackers are constantly PM'ing players that post issues on the official boards to help them resolve their problems. Plus, there's the official support from NCSoft... Service is pretty good, I'd say!
Lastly to quote you and another review:

But I think this game is crap and it should be beaten back down to where it belongs, atm it stands with games that I think far surpass it in every way.
I know that this "You insult the players that legitimately enjoy this game and you direct libelous comments towards NCSoft" was not directed to me but you grouped me in there and then said this which I have not done any of, and about insulting players that legitimately enjoy the game, I’m a player that legitimately did not enjoy the game and I said how I feel in my review, It wasn't and insult it was an opinion and if you take offense to it, tough.

It's not your place to beat the game down. As I explained above, the ratings for this game are based on this game alone, not how it compares to others. You don't like the game and that's fine. You don't, however, have the right to artificially rank the game and flame the ones who do actually like it.

First of all these are reader reviews and I can review it how ever I feel like it, if I did something wrong it would be removed.
Second, since you’re so wise why don’t you finish telling me more about what my place is?
and last, I do not like this game, I think it was appalling that it was rated up there with other games i much preferred and thought better of so it persuaded me to give a review which I didn't do before because the game didn’t appeal enough to me to find it and rate it, until it was staring me in the face.
Just to sum it up, I don’t like this game, my review can be whatever I want it to be, and my place is where ever I want it to be.

I don't know if NCSoft honestly did what is alleged here, but I can't think that they care enough about this game to do much about it. I repeat, this game is not their big moneymaker. It's a fun side project for them, not their big concentration. But really, give this game a chance, take everything in, and don't judge it because it's a point-and-click right off the bat. My baby-seal skin armor and their mockeries of MMO item suffixes (such and such item "of the wallaby", "of the platypus", "from the party", etc.) kept me chuckling long into the game. I feel like this gets the same beat-down that Guild Wars gets for being free, but give it more than 5 minutes before judging.

Yes, you can review it any way you like, as can we. The difference here is, you are inciting people and asking them to 'beat it back down to where it belongs' because YOU don't think much of the game.
I wish I could rate people like you people rate games. You'd need (more) therapy to get over the score you'd get.
What's with all this rating manipulation? The OP first says its been manipulated to be high, then all these people come in and purposely rate it low to soothe their egos?
Man, you don't like the game, rate it and move on. Is it so hard to accept that someone might actually like something you don't?

My comment was suppose to incite people, because I felt the game was bad and did not deserve to be up at that high of a rating. Also I rate almost everything I play ether a 10 or a 1, sometimes a 6 or 7 if I kind of liked it.
I have to comment on what you said about rating games compared to other games, the way it’s done at mmorpg.com puts everything in a list where the games are ranked based on their review.
so basically If I think the top game is like a 10 but its only 8.2 then I will rate every game based on the idea that 8.2 is the 10. So the rating would be lower than an unbiased review. When people look at the review list they want to see the games that people think are good.
say I gave the game a 70%, like a 7, then 70% of 8.2 is about a 5.7, that I think is a fair way to review games for specific lists.
But like I said before I usually go pass or fail, and this one failed.

And just to say, I don’t think anyone manipulated the rating, I bet what happened was when it got on the list, which I believe wasn’t that long ago the 24th I believe, people who liked it found it and reviewed making it get a high review.

I don’t really like commenting about other people or being blatantly insulting but this kind of stuff I find appalling. I was rating the game not insulting you.
If this is the type of people this game caters to then I will stand by my rating even more.
You should take a lesson from rhinokk he thinks my rating was retarded and immature, which it might just be a bit immature, but he doesn’t try to get a low blow in there anywhere.

Rate the game, post your opinion (without forcing your views on others) and move on.

I don't think this game was meant to be a competetor with things like WoW, CoH, etc. I think some people just wanted a casual, small game for people to play and be able to put down immediatly when necessary. Not a game that you slave hours over [well, some might..], maybe a game parents could even play with their kids. I know it appeals to my little cousin, I actually rated it decently because I find it great that he can play something fun that has a small and stable enviroment. I also enjoy the fact that I don't have to worry about him running into the same situation as I did, getting addicted and not wanting to let games go. Getting too serious about MMORPG's can be a problem, and although I love my life style of just playing and testing games all day, writing up guides, helping others with games, I don't think I would want that for a younger child.
I think it's a great game, not for me, but definatly for my little cousin. :]
