Looking for Open - PvP MMO - Help!

Hey everyone, recently I have been downloading free trials of MMORPGs such as Eve Online and Vanguard. I have also been furiously downloading free MMORPGs all together such as Hero Online, 9 Dragons, Knight online, etc.

I have also logged 3000+ hours in WoW (retired), 1500+ or god knows what in GW (casually playing and HAing when friends page me on vent :P) and also prob a good 1000 in FFXI.

Sadly, I have not found true open pvp that I am looking for. No holds bar pvp; perhaps with full - loot. I mean pvp everywhere, no matter where you are you can be attacked save perhaps town or noob areas. I have concluded that games that perhaps even have this have such a ridiculous grind (*cough L2*) and such a ridiculous economy (i wont cough again), that its impossible to enjoy them.

Now before you spam me with darkfall links (i know what this is lol), I would love to see if there was a filler of some sort until Darkfall. A game that did not have: a.) a massive grind to pvp in first place > b.) a pvp system where better gear wins > c.) click - to - move >          d.)u get the picture, i just want all the bad things out of these so called "pvp" games

 

This may not be possible, but any open-pvp games that arent gear based, arent instances, arent click to move, etc that I somehow missed would be great. I am open to all games and reasons for them. THANKS!

Shadowbane is as good as it gets right now, really. There's a real lack of good PvP MMOs.

to me there's no such thing as open pvp anymore, but before they messed up UO it was the best open pvp there was to it, it was great...

I played SB Man, was on Mourning with Hades for a while if you played

Had all max levels 2 accounts filled and played a ton

what drove me away was the lack of community, it hardly was an mmo anymore

open tree pking was fine but it removed world pvp and made it almost zoned

aside from occasional sieges or real pvp when someone came to mess up ur lvling / bot :P party, it was lacking

maybe im wrong but could u tell me if shadowbane community maybe has gone up and it is an actual mmo now, i played perhaps 1/2 yr ago

I also have been searching as well, and most games just dont cut it. Either it takes too long to get to PvP or the PvP just doesnt give what a PvPer wants.

Hopefully someone can tell us something that has some sort of good pvp. Ive tried Shadowbane as well, its great and all but its just not my cup of tea. Doesnt have to be something long term, just something to waste the time away.

keke right now im playing rakion, gw (when ppl need me for HA) and currently downloading shadowbane ), anyone have any ideas aside from shadowbane?

Try DAoC, I think that one is still going strong and had at one time the best PvP/RvR model of all mmorpg's w/PvP.

Most PVP MMOs are as what you didnt want.. Best Gears, Best Built etc. The richer you are ingame, the better you are. Of course it doesnt mean that you have uber gears, you will rule. Sometimes it is the techniques and your pvp reactions. Most players aim for the best gears, best builts/skills, best of everything in order to stand at the pvp arena. As far as i know, i havent meet with a game that suits your criteria.

anywho, its also not solo friendly and sometiems i like to play alone

 

ima try shadowbane again, and daoc idk i tried free trial but i didnt like the way the game felt tbh, may sound off, thanks for ur input guys! anymore is welcome

oh and by the way chantelly, does hero online have good pvp later on, and how long u have to grind for it / is the pvp community large

LOL, you wouldnt want to play hero online. Massive Grinding. When you reach higher lvls you need to kill thousands of mobs to get just mere 1%. And in order to lvl up fast, you have to purchase 20% experience statue which almost the community is doing. Uber gears & high lvls stand high in the game. You will fail to craft rares and even to max it to +7/+8. Weapons or gears will be lost if you fail to do so.. Thus buying items using paypal if often to secure your items not being able to disappear and also increase your luck.. But often % to max/craft isnt high. It all depends on luck. High lvl players in the game spend alot of real cash ingame. Even you have got the rare, there are more higher rares that awaiting for you to accomplished. I am currently having the best gears ingame, and divine skills (best skills worth 1 billion gold) but still lost out to them due to level differences which means -MORE GRINDING... GAH 

But one thing i can say, the skills your character protray is COOL and i can say the pvp system is not bad, although not the best.

There is so much to say about this game which i been in for almost a year...

Oh ya to answer your question, the pvp community is survivor of the fittest, which only high lvls rule. And most of them are lvl 85 and above slayer. Stealth and kill. And either give up your grinding built or ur pvp built vice versa. Let say you are pure str slayer, grinding is a nightmare for you.

Couldn't agree more, UO was the funnest I ever had pvping.  Even back when the game was full of bugs it was still a blast.  I would resubscribe if they made a server of classic UO.

If you want pure pvp, Planetside. Otherwise, there isn't much out there.

Darkfall Online has open PvP but the game isnt even in beta yet.
