Path Less Travelled

This is one of my favourite topics. What zones do you think are good and underused in EQ2. As up to now the most common progression where:

solo, Stormhold or Fallen Gate, Ruins of Varsoon, Enchanted Lands and Runnyeye and and so on.

But what is the path less travelled?

I like Zek a lot it is a very good alternative in your 30s lots of good quests with good loot in the end but unfortunately few goes there, me and my wife duoed our way through the 30s there and we had a blast, the greenhood quest line gives you a ranged item that you will use a long time if you are a caster.

Next unused place is Rivervale this is strange as its next door to the very popular Enchanted Lands, Rivervale is a high 30s zone that has Nightbloods, some HQs and some L & Ls and is all around a very fun place to go to and very good experience too. Its also much more accessible than Cazic Thule.

So what are your tips?

I find Lavastorm and Feerot to be underused and stunning art-wise.  Also, Crushbone is a fantastic but underused dungeon.

I spent a long time in the Feerrott from late 30's to mid 40's.  This was a great levelling zone with a ton of quests.

Crushbone is an excellent dungeon, and a lot of fun. I find that levelling characters up in Butcherblock with the large varieties of quest lines for characters 20-35 is also a lot of fun, and I never see many people doing it.

Only my frist character traveled that path. Blackburrow, Stromhold, Ruins of Varsoon, Runnyeye and so on...

Once max level i was a bit frustrated how much i missed and since that day i soloed a monk, a mystic and an illusionist through all zones.

Lavastrom was always deserted, permafrost quest groups are rare, since EoF noone plays through the peacock line in living tomb and silent city anymore. Obelisk of lost souls is always empty. Did the access quest with my mystic in one hour, because all nameds where up :P Unfortunately i had to solo it at 70 for the language. I already have met players who dont know where the forge (for relic armour) in lavastorm is or who dont know where the shimmering citadel is.

I am actuall playing the Crushbone/Bucher block area right now. It has a bunch of good quest lines that run through it and as already stated it is very under-used. The good thing about it is I can usually find at least one person to run around with for a good while; Im in my high 20's and I can solo most of the area with a decent exp rate. When I hit my 30's tho I will have to lok for a new area and with this being my first char I will probably end up in another unused area.

Oh fine, tell everyone where all the cool places are.

Then we'll have all the city tourists coming in, dumping trash on the highways, and buying up all the good real estate.

On Everfrost I've also noticed that Feerott doesn't get played that often. This zone is HUGE with tons of quests! Play Feerott around 36 and slowly move through the zone until you reach Cazic-Thule. Now that is a great but under-used zone for 40+. Most people don't join CT groups because they're not comfortable with running across Feerrott, so there would be a plus to adventuring there. You'll know that place like the back of your hand. Before I head to Feerrott for soloing, I always try to get my bags as empty as possible and forage while I grind. There are some really nice high-node areas tucked away if you can find them.

I'm glad you mentioned Feerot--I'm disliking Steamfront right now at 42 so I might go hit the green quests in Feerot before going to Lavastorm at 45.  Is 45 about right for Lavastorm?
