Just been to the soe.sony.com website, which lists all its games and there it is - under console games then listed as a PS3 title.

Ah well, as a PC owner I will miss this opportunity as I dont have a console, well not at that price.

They said It will be cross platform. It is supposed to come out for both PS3 and PC.

Yea, there is this golden rule in the console world, where "Exclusive" means that it only comes out on that console.. and for PCs.. it's rather wierd imo :S

I am hoping that the servers are cross platform too. I got a feeling they'll stick ps3s and pcs in their own seperate homes...

I hope they keep the servers seperate. After all console players aren't real gamers and need to be kept seperate from us real gamers so we dont catch anything But really (the above was a joke for those without the concept of humour), the problem of having the same server for console and pc would mean the pc version needing to be dumbed down.

are you talking dumbed down as far as control and interface usage? Thats what I assume at least. the PS3 graphics are made to handle it for sure. but limited on buttons and what not.

I have a feeling it will be seperate, I wanted them joint for the sake of playing everyone I know that hase 1 or the other :P

Cross platform would be great.  Im sure ive heard there is another online console/pc game but the servers are NOT cross platform as it would hand the PC guys an advantage... halo 2 or shadowrun? (hmm cant recall)

So, all in all, YIPPEE, I do get to play it at some point.

In a press release they already stated that they currently plan to have PC and PS3 players on the same servers.  Sorry, I can't find it and don't have much will to look for it really.  So it is just my word unless someone else digs it up.  I only remember it because to my knowledge it will be the first MMO to allow such a thing and really surprised me to read it.  If this is a true FPS type combat game, then it is time to show those on console that the mouse is better once and for all!

I can use the PC when the wife is on the TV and when she's on the PC, I can get on the big 60 inch HDTV!

Even though i have no clue what this game is, and have never heard of it, I would like to put my input here.  I think they should keep the console and the pc seperate, because it could possibly be easier to play on the pc over the ps3 so it would end up in grouping where people are looking for a pc user over a ps3 user and therefore it could make it a bad time for the ps3 users if there is a larger pc player base.





ps. sorry if my theroy doesnt go with the game, I repeat, I dont know what this game is, and have never heard about it.

i wonder if its going to be balanced , mouse vs pad, mouse is more accurate imo, how are they going to do this ?

I both agree and disagree. some console players are very good with FPS and movement, sure a keyboard and mouse is a lot easier to use IMHO but it may or may not be better than the other. Plus PS3 will have the option to use a keyboard and mouse lol

but for that reason I could easily see them being seperate.

Crossover gaming is the future of MMORPGS. The fact is 80% of the profit comes from console games. They are simply too profiable to pass up. I predict, this won't be the last game we see as part of a Crossover plan. I think if SOE can prove that it can work and work well, we will see many, many more like it. I have to say that, I'm not afraid of the change!

I definately agree. I always hated battling myself over whether to play my console or PC. PC normally wins but my friend likes the console better. It would be great to see them linked as it opens up the tables for more peopel to play. The game would increase in players in huge numbers being it is to be on both PS3 and PC.

Only people who play either or have these ridiculous points of views. There are alot of fps on the console, and having played fps on both console and pc i can tell you i can get a headshot just as easy with a keyboard and mouse as i can with a controller.

 

ITs all what your used too, and if your used to a contorller your going to have no trouble killing someone with a keyboard and mouse. The only issue ps3 will have is communication, if there is no voice, ps3 wont be chatting it up, if anyone as played final fantasy, the virtual keyboard is terrible for holding a conversation.

Lol. I knew when I clicked this topic, I was going to see something about mouse vs controller topic. Those of you who say mouse is better in your most honorable opinion are pretty much full of shiza. I'm not saying either or is better, but there is no scientific study proving this, just the thought of someone having more control of a cross hair because the freedom of the mouse, I think joystick is the same way. I put it this way, mouse vs controller.. someone will die  by either or, thus making this 'theory' retarded.

or what ur saying is retarded because its all about preference and what the individual is better with, even if there is some scientific study(like they would waste time) saying controller is better i would disagree with them cause im better at mouse.

 

and any way back on topic since the ps3 with be able do have a mouse and keyboard then different plats on same server sounds good to me....(and is IMHO really in my HONORABLE opinion i thought it was humble or honest)
