the tech guy sets up a new computer in the office and it makes your home gaming PC look like a cardboard box full of old Nintendo parts.

I logged on and immediately noticed the speed and quality of the computer trumped my computer's meager innards.  My home computer's power supply fan has to be started manually.

    You decide to take your mates advice and get into gaming, you find an old copy of doom at a local garage sale and your pc doesn't meet the min specs!

    It's not your dialup that's slow, it's your computer that can't handle the loading!

    You need to crank it to start it up.

    It runs on Diesel.

    It has Windows installed on it! :P

    when you know you won't be able to play the new MMOs that are coming but still are looking forward to them anyway...

    My computer is about 5 years old.

    I check the Warhammer Online site weekly for updates.  I am also looking forward to AoC and a few other titles.  Sadly I won't be playing any of these until I can get a new rig.

    ...when you tried to install Vanguard: Saga of Heroes after the 4gig download.  You are greeted by a friendly error message that states your video card is too crappy to run Vanguard on bare-bones settings.



    ...the system crawls when you try and load a big shockwave site.

    Retro, I know the feeling. My PC is four years old and it's feeling its age, but damn, when I can run a video editor in Linux it still flies like a cat high on the 'nip. Just don't expect it to play EQ2 on high res. :3
