Im downloading the play the fae trial at the moment, and want advice un case I like it and decide to buy.

1.Which expansions are must haves, that arent all about high level content (ala burning crusade).

2.Ive been reading a lot of comments lately, mainly people in the lotro forums, saying how everquest offers a lot more than games such as WoW. What sort of features does it have that makes it different?

3.Is the high end stuff meaningless dungeon raids, and is there the horrible elitist loot greed syndrome that ruined WoWs 60+ content?

4.classes well balanced?is there anything I should avoid like the plague thats so horribly gimped that I can hardly kill anything remotely my level?(I usually like pet classes, paladin~cleric types or debuffers btw. Crusader, prelate and templar in shadowbane, warlock and pala in WoW,necro/monk and necro/mesmer in guild wars, loremaster and minstrel in lotr :D )

5.PvP.I hear that eq2s pvp system isnt the greatest, but is it still playable enough/is there world pvp and /or battleground style instances (I like both,so instanced stuff doesnt bother me).

6.is it all about what loot you have, rather than how well you play your chosen class?

If you buy Echoes of Fawyder (the retail box.. NOT the digitial download) you will get all the other expansions with it.  You can buy it at Best Buy (they have a good amount of the retail boxes....because they are sorta hard to fine)
2.Ive been reading a lot of comments lately, mainly people in the lotro forums, saying how everquest offers a lot more than games such as WoW. What sort of features does it have that makes it different?
It's all just a matter of personal opinion.  I find the community in EQ2 to be well over five times more mature than WoW...doesn't mean you will hear immaturity going on but chances are those people were former WoW elitists that movedo nto EQ2 (not to make fun of WoW players...Im just pointed out the WoW kiddos and I understand plenty of mature players playing WoW)
Also, the quests in EQ2 is much more in depth and involving and plentiful.  The Lore behind many things in EQ2 are nice and I simply think the professions and classes are so much better than WoW or LotRO.
Eq2 also attracts players because it's not a hand holding game like WoW or LotRO. What I mean is ...EQ2 isn't so easy a chimpazee can level to 70 in a week.

You have raids at end game but trust me...it's NOWHERE near as bad as the mentality of WoW....Ive been there...it was ugly.  If you ever want to do end game raids, it is certainly there and there is Raid Guilds designed to accomondate you. But, no, EQ2 isn't like WoW where someone logs on for the first time, powerlevels to 60+ in one week and then spend the rest of his time in raids.  Nothing like it.

Classes are very balanced and at the same time, virtually any class can solo if you ever got in the mood for solo play and each class has something to offer to a party if they want to group.  Dont be worried about killing stuff your lvl...you'll be able to no matter your class.
5.PvP.I hear that eq2s pvp system isnt the greatest, but is it still playable enough/is there world pvp and /or battleground style instances (I like both,so instanced stuff doesnt bother me).
I hate EQ2 PvP system. I think it sucks lol. You wont get an argument from me about that.
6.is it all about what loot you have, rather than how well you play your chosen class?
You're gonna need good armor and weapons/spells adepts if you plan on playing solo.

It's beautiful game with an extremly kind community

I'm not really keen on the PvP. There are lvl-locked twinks running around killing lowbies. when you die you lose 0.5% exp, 20% gold and possibly an item. I never had a chance of leveling  to 70 on a pvp server cause I got killed all the time : ) The PvP downright sucks. I've never even gotten the possiblity to try real pvp, I'd just get ganked by twinks

Also, I love the quests in EQ2. So much more than just "go to x, kill y centaurs".

I would say that when leveling you at low levels your gear doesnt matter. as you get to 52-70 you wanna get full mastercrafted. Its not hard, I got it on my first char :)
