Im downloading the play the fae trial at the moment, and want advice un case I like it and decide to buy.
1.Which expansions are must haves, that arent all about high level content (ala burning crusade).
2.Ive been reading a lot of comments lately, mainly people in the lotro forums, saying how everquest offers a lot more than games such as WoW. What sort of features does it have that makes it different?
3.Is the high end stuff meaningless dungeon raids, and is there the horrible elitist loot greed syndrome that ruined WoWs 60+ content?
4.classes well balanced?is there anything I should avoid like the plague thats so horribly gimped that I can hardly kill anything remotely my level?(I usually like pet classes, paladin~cleric types or debuffers btw. Crusader, prelate and templar in shadowbane, warlock and pala in WoW,necro/monk and necro/mesmer in guild wars, loremaster and minstrel in lotr )
5.PvP.I hear that eq2s pvp system isnt the greatest, but is it still playable enough/is there world pvp and /or battleground style instances (I like both,so instanced stuff doesnt bother me).
6.is it all about what loot you have, rather than how well you play your chosen class?

I'm not really keen on the PvP. There are lvl-locked twinks running around killing lowbies. when you die you lose 0.5% exp, 20% gold and possibly an item. I never had a chance of leveling to 70 on a pvp server cause I got killed all the time : ) The PvP downright sucks. I've never even gotten the possiblity to try real pvp, I'd just get ganked by twinks
Also, I love the quests in EQ2. So much more than just "go to x, kill y centaurs".
I would say that when leveling you at low levels your gear doesnt matter. as you get to 52-70 you wanna get full mastercrafted. Its not hard, I got it on my first char
