Loot

I haven't read anything online about the game other than the forums here, but in an earlier post someone said something about randomly generated loot.  I was wondering, for those of you old schoolers, if this meant that the loot system would be like Asheron's Call, where there was a chance of getting a unique item with unique stats every time you killed something.  In other words, randomly generated when you opened the corpse, as opposed to getting the "Flaming Popsickle Stick of the Owl" that has pre-set stats and damage (i.e. WoW).

I don't know who's spreading that misinformation, but I think I need to clear a few things up. Equipment in Spellborn does not carry any staticstical modifiers, it's just for looks. Items called sigil can be applied to jewlery and weapons to add stats to them. So, loot doesn't have random stats. However, this does mean that you can customize your equipment to do whatever you want it to do. I'm not even sure if you can loot sigils from enemies, from what I've gathered they're primarily gained through quests and crafting. What you can get from enemies are crafting materials and recipies, which indirectly grant you sigils, I suppose. There is no randomly generated loot aside from the usual drop tables that MMORPGs use to caculate drops from enemies.

But all the same, if you haven't read up on this game, I reccomend that you do. It has alot of really cool features and the lore is great.

    Crafting ?

I thought they dont like us crafters. Or do you mean the guildwars-like "let the npc craft" system ?

Yeah, the system is like in Guild Wars, except with a bit more depth and variety, but it's really the same thing as any other system. You turn raw materials into finished goods, the only difference is that you aren't the one actually making it and you don't have to grind up your crafting skills to make stuff.
