I said the same thing too when I first checked it out, but there are a lot of differences that set the two apart. For example, Voyage Century's tradeskill system has you AFK mining/woodcutting for literally days, while PotBS's tradeskill system will save up points while you're doing other things so you can use them all at once. There is no actual work for the player to do. The graphics are also significantly improved in PotBS. Another difference is that PotBS is set exclusively in the Caribbean, while Voyage Century (stupidly) spread their cities all over the world.

To be honest, I liked Voyage Century a lot but the bugs and crappy translations were too much for me. If the same can be said for you, then PotBS may be the answer.

I played voyage century and it is pretty dire.

Graphicaly it felt old, everything seemed quite square and even a bit sprity. Burning Sea looks much much better!

As for the gameplay it felt very unbalenced somehow. One moment picking up shells off a beach, then grinding some wood and rock and then fighting an animal. All dull dull click one move and sleep till it has finished.

The ship combat was alright though, but Voyage Centurys best attribute is that it is free.
