I'm using a RP614 Netgear router on windows XP currently and I just need to open up a few ports for gaming purposes. This is the tutorial that im using,

, i have had a lot experience with the home routing experiance working for a broadband company.
unfortuantly with out any error codes and so on it is hard to troubleshoot this problem, or telling us what exactly happens when you try to access your routers port forwarding feature.
it could be you need to install a 128 bit encryption patch for ie, since by default on some installs of ie, you need to patch it.
if you can not access any pages you may have the wrong ip address for your router. to find out your ip range simply go to
the start menu -> run and typ in cmd, you should have a prompt screen. then simply type in ipconfig, this will tell you the ip addresses that your computer may have. you will want to look for the nic adapter you are using.
or to find out your ip address start -> settings -> control panel -> network... -> and select your network interface you are using, most likely it will say connected next to it. double click on it and it should have your ip address there
now in both options you'll see something like 192.168.x.x now your routers ip address is going to 192.168.x.1
if you can know your ip address for the router is correct then, i would seriously reply with the specific error or instance that has happened when you try to turn on port forwarding, or i or other people may have a hard time relaying the solution to you.
