What is the status of PotC?

I really didn't pay much attention to this game but have started watching it since it will be coming out soon. Unfortunately, the official site does not have much info.

I know Beta is going on now but I do not see any way to submit for the Beta. Can you submit for Beta now?

Is there a forum on the PotC site? I signed up but can find no place to login, what is the sign up for?

Is Disney still going to offer this game free with advertisements? Does anyone know how those advertisements will work?

There isn't much buzz about this game or is that Just on MMORPG.com?
