Well, if you mean largest in terms of overall subscriptions, that's true. What a lot of people don't understand is that the Internet Cafes in Korea will buy subs in bulk, there may or may not be an actual user tied to that account. In unique subs EQ is the king And as for oldest? UO has Lineage beat by one year I believe.

Who cares? I mean more subscriptions means more money. And thats all that really matters in the biz.
Now as for games. I nominate AC1. Best game i've ever played. Played on darktide. The PvPing was awesome. Had a real community. Not always the nicest, but everyone was pretty much known. Small community. PvPing was actually based on knowledge and self skill. Really fun.

Lineage might be bigger sub wise but in the wider world its not as well known as EQ imo. EQ is what everyone and their dog bases a new mmo on. WoW will get released and people will cpmpare launch/ server lag/ code/ combat sub take up etc on an eq bases (more than /less than eq etc)
Now adays the best is still in development I think.
Of all the MMORPG's I've played and/or tested -which is a lot- I enjoyed Asheron's Call I the most and consequently played it the longest. It has a very basic charm, a sizeable and diverse community, a fairly well balanced system and an "original" storyline.
AC (retired); EQ (retired); DAoC (retired); Horizons (retired); EQII (retired); CoH (retired); AC II (tested); Lineage II (beta); Neocron (tested); Saga of Ryzom (beta); SWG (retired)...
