I have this problem ... one day i turn my computer on and attempt to go on the internet but i cant =( ...surprise! In the past i have fixed most of my computer problems but this one has me and all my other friends that are good with computers stumped
i have 3 computers at home 2 work perfectly fine (wireless) and the wired one has not been able to connect to the internet for the past week, i am not able to use internet explorer or firefox it just comes up with cannot load/find page and no instant messenger such as msn or aim will connect to the internet the funny thing is at times xfire will connect and i will see friends online and what theyre playing and everything.
And yes i have tried rebooting everything in order i even reset my modem and router but stil no success. I get the correct internal ip adress dns server and all that but for some reason i can not access the internet, i have spent the last week searching google, ive found people with the same problem but all they had to do is reboot everything in order and the problem fixed itsself, i have no idea what could be wrong im soo pissed right now you have no idea. Im about to reformat my whole hard drive but i dont want to because i have about 120 gigs of important things and it would take forever to backup.
Anyway i have microsoft xp service pack 2 and a netgear WGU624 router, any help would be much appreciated and ask any questions you need to ... im desperate

Now, I'm not that good with computers. Maybe it has something to do with the LAN connection. Usually when I cannot connect I check that in Network Connections. I'm taking a comp science class so I can check that for ya if ya want.
Grim, I am going to send you a PM here so check your messages n a bit.
"What is it I have against Microsoft, you ask? Well, you know how you feel when you wait for an MMO to come out and when it does you feel like you've paid to play it's beta test for another 6-9 months before anything even thinks of working the way it should? Being a network engineer you feel that way about anything Microsoft puts out."
