My Venture into Second Life

snowmonkysnowmonky Member Posts: 93

I was extremely bored one day and thought about what interesting games to play. So, I tried out Second Life to find out if the hype fit the role. I don't know about you, but this type of sandbox reminds me of chatrooms with avatars with no goals. It got boring, but it still interests me after I mutated my character into an ugly monster. I went out of intro island and joined others in chats. With my mutated avatar, people would basically ignore me and run away. It was quite entertaining, no doubt. The similarities are uncanny between Second Life and "First Life" in that people do care about your appearance (and "achievements" somewhat). I wouldn't recommend this game for everyone, but for those who can't find the time to get out and socialize, this social platform serves as a great alternative.

However, I don't understand the fetish shops abound...

If you have enough time to sit on your butt for hours playing this thing, you certainly have enough time to get out and play a little game called "Real Life."  Lol

You seem to misunderstand my opinion. I meant to emphasize that the social platform is a great alternative for those single mothers who can't go out anymore and those with deformities that cannot be perceived fairly by the general public. I do not socialize in this online world, because I am capable and have the time to socialize both in my workplace and at home. Besides, I have better things to do than to waste time chatting to strangers. I do enjoy playing online shooters though.
