I have been playing rappelz for about 9 months now with the usual "quits to find a better game" but I always come back. Ive quit so many times, deleting my char's and everything trying to quit. Well, Fact is, it is a really really good game (minus the bugs, unfinished product, complete poopslap with their epic4 patch) but all that aside, it is still an AWSOME GAME. Very addicting, usual korean grindfest. Thing is, I cant put the thing down. I always come back. For a free game, Rappelz surely deserves a trophy, even in its current state. That says alot because if they fixed a majority of the things, Rappelz would be that much better. Anyways, Id like to hear other people's thoughts on Rappelz. Whole reason why I posted this

I have to say that Rappelz is the best FTP MMO out there and better than alot of the PTP MMO's that I have played.. I quit Lineage 2 months ago and I have tried all the FTP MMOs out and Rappelz is the only one that made me stay. They only thing I dont like about Rappelz is the lag in the towns. In the next update I would like to see a Crafting System and more types of Armor and Weapons.
I quit playing this back during Epic 3, and kind of trolled the field to see what was out there. And after countless letdowns, I decided to come back to Rappelz and give Epic 4 a spin. I have to agree, out of all the F2P MMOs out there, Rappelz is the most fun, polished, and prettiest one of the lot. Even with the current problems, and E4 gripes, it's still a worthy investment of time. I'd even go as far to say that it's better than some P2P games out on the market (RF Online was a rip off when it was P2P). So anyone looking for a decent, fun free MMO, you owe it to yourself to give this one a spin, at least.
I have been playing since open beta... and have pretty much stuck with it... I may have dropped it for a awhile to play around with other games (was disgruntled waiting for E4) like Enemy Territory and a few betas... but I seem to be enjoying it even more than I did before... they run player appreciation events that actually are available to most level players and also the cash shop items are mostly tradeable... On the whole it is actually a great game
Alot of bugs must be right. Can't even get the game to play. Have downloaded it from 2 different sites. and it just freezes up when trying tro install. (I use windows XP and mee t the specs.) <Shrug> doesn't matter how good the game maybe if one can't play it. Also if all it has to offer is another Korean grind then I'd think everyones better off playing Diablo, or Titan quest. God save us from all the gold sellers and bots.
i just finshed downloading the game hope its good as you guys say.

Well..it's a good game, good enough.
Not only GREAT in F2P, but also EXCELLENT compare w/ P2P.
About LAGGY, I think it's a probelm of 3D-Engine.
Like "RF Online", it's usually laggy in town.
My PC-Spec:
Athlon64x2 4200+ w/ 4GB RAM
ATI X1950PRO x2 for CROSSFIRE
I can play smoothly in "Lineage 2" when I'm in City-Giran, which uses Unreal Engine 2.
But still feel laggy in RAPPELZ or RF Online when I enter a town.
I really think it's a problem of KOREAN-NATIVE 3D-Engine.
RAPPELZ, Unlike most KOREAN-MADE game:
1. It's amount of quests is enough, u can done the quest one by one continuously, not ONLY kill mobs day by day for ONLY Lv up. (MOST KOREAN GAME is Lv up ONLY...)
2. It's quests are REASONABLE, not just assign you goto collect 600~700 particular goods. (aw..u may need to kill 6000~7000 mobs for accomplishing a quest...)
3. It's processes of quests are SMOOTHLY, no need to travel over all mainland for just one quest. (if u play Lineage 2, u know what I'm talking about...)
4. u don't need to worry about stuff & money, just do quest, u will earn enough money & stuff; if u r not so peacockish, u don't need work hard for money. (MOST KOREAN GAME is a MONEY/STUFF-HARD-to-EARN GAME!)
5. Stuff DROP-RATE(including Absorbing Lak) is REASONABLE, u will get abundant resource, including consumable, like potion or scroll, & equip, like weapon or armor, not just abundant but in good time.
6. Lv up SMOOTHLY, just do quest one by one, u will Lv up naturally. no need to kill mobs aimlessly. (MOST KOREAN GAME is a Lv up GAME ONLY, there is ONLY ONE QUEST: Lv UP!!)
7. Variety of play, u can use cards, cubes, stones.., to enhance ur skill, equip, creature.., many way & rich combination.
8. The Graphics & Style Design, good integration.
9. The product is highly accomplished, not just a draft... (not like SUN..EXCELLENT GRAPHICS, POORLY ACCOMPLISHED...)
10. FAIRLY, although there are various cash stuff, but not necessary, u could pay cash for them just for fun. (Many F2P games need to pay for necessary.., otherwise u will be exhausted in gameplay.)
So, I recommand this game.
You know, this game is Shit, but it is for free, so i think it is good enough to be Play for free.
IMO it's a grown-up version of FlyFF. I played FlyFF for awhile (It was pretty lame and I didn't enjoy it but I had my reasons) and the creator is the same and the system is quite similiar, albeit the skill system is pretty strange and unique. I've only played for a little while but from what I've seen in watching a few video's and from my own experience the most interesting part to me is the mounts. Especially that weirdass lizard thing. The tutorial didn't teach me shit about how to get one but I'm determined to find out. The pets don't really appeal to me because I spent enough time being a petmaster back when I still played Guild Wars.
