Where actual gameplay and character development is more entertaining than talking smack in game and on the messageboards.
Edit: Added: I've played EQ1, FFXI, CoX, EQ2, WoW, EvE Online, DAoC, and DDO for at least 1mo. each.

Nothing is more fun than smack talking.
But to answer you question.... You seem to have played every game worth trying. Out of all the games out now, the most mature communities seem to be EVE and EQ2, maybe Daoc. I cannot stand EVE personally, and Daoc is dated to heck, and is basically empty. I'd go with EQ2, it's what I'm currently subscribed to and I rarely see smacktalk, just purley gameplay.

This game is good.
So, of those you tried, which ones did you like, and why? Will give us a better idea of what to suggest.
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
Well, of the ones I played I liked for different reasons:
EQ1: First MMOG, lasted 5 years (bard), enjoyed most aspects aside from grinds and raids. LDoN and Kunark were the best expansions IMO.
CoH: Loved the customizeability most. The classes present were all necessary if used in certain ways. The community was fine. I've never been one for "gearing up" so just being able to develop my avatar as i pleased was very fulfilling.
DAoC: I tried for a week and there just wasn't any feeling of urgency. There was no reason i could find to care what was going on.
EQ2: Had many friends in the game, tired of WoW. Looked forward to the lore, loved the Heroic Opportunities and CoH type combat twisting abilities.
FFXI: Loved the art & series, very original, the combo system was nice. I never used a game controller, and the controls just sucked for me. That alone turned me off from the game.
EVE Online: Too much of a learning curve I suppose- it just felt very foreign to me. Nothing really grabbed me.
DDO: Was just boring to me.
I'm still interested in trying Guild Wars and LOTRO if there are free trials available, atm, I'm stuck w/
WoW: Very nice interface, friends moved to it from other games then quit, the gameplay is very fluid. I basically am just burned out on the game. i've played for a couple of years and am looking for something better. I like that no matter what class i play I can at least handle one add. I also like the less realistic graphics. Unfortunately I really am not gear oriented, but I am drawn to play games w/ my RL friends. I do enjoy the AV and AB battlegrounds, but Arenas and Warsong Gulch are very boring to me.
At this point I am looking forward to Age of Conan for the mature rating (so I can swear when talking smack, even if only in character), WAR- mostly because of hype to tell the truth, Tabula Rasa because I like NCSoft's games and my RL gf is a Halo nut so I may be able to draw her in, and maybe the Stargate MMO because I'm pretty tired of the fantasy genre.
I would say give SWG a try it , well SOE screwed it up bad but it's all fixed now and is a very fun game again ... play on Bria and you'll be pleased until WaR ir something comes out. You can grab it for 19.95
I appreciate the advice. I'm going to hold out and try Guild Wars and LOTRO because I have not played them yet.
The reason I never played SWG (and probably won't) is because I'm a big SW fan and I don't think I'd tolerate inconsistencies w/ continuity (either by programmers or other players) but that's my own issue, and it's bound to happen in any MMO with some kind of history.
Another question I have- do anyof the games out currently or any planned ones have any features as an "evolving world" or having GM events that are meaningful? One thing I truly enjoyed about EQ1 was the GM events, such as the one Halloween where they altered Lake Rathetear and the items that dropped were very, very good. Also, as for the former comment, same game, when they changed Kithicor from being just a newb zone after the event between Firiona Vie and Innruuk's chosen one (forget her name).
It's definitely a bummer when there's nothing more urgent for logging in aside from getting the night's exp/quests in and doing scheduled raids. When I hear that there's some kind of event going on, it makes me want to log in more (not lame diversions like WoW's holiday type events).
Lord of the Rings has a seven day trial. I enjoyed it so much I'm going to buy it this week.
I've always tried almost everything known to man over my extensive years playing MMORPGs. I am not a junky like some people who need 15 MMORPGs installed at once just because it's "cool".
I would say either Everquest II or Lord of the Rings... also I do play Guild Wars for the PvP aspect.
I want to try LOTR but my computer is too slow for it.
Right now I'm hyped about Infinity: The Quest for Earth, but the release date is far off.
