Mouse or trackball?

I use a trackball. The only thing limiting me is that there is no scroll wheel on the style which I like to use. I can use a mouse no problem though.

I've used trackballs in the past and they do work well but at the moment I use a wireless optical mouse. I personally like this mouse better because I think it's more accurate then the trackballs I've used and never having to take the darn thing apart to clean it RULES!!! I personally will probably use an optical mouse for the rest of my life unless they invent something better somewhere down the road.

  I use a trackball mouse, and I despise it. There is no scroll wheel, it's horribly inaccurate, and because of the missing wheel, I'm at a huge disadvantage in most games (Can't zoom in and out during RTS's, can't quick swap in FPS's with the exception of CS).

    Sadly, I cannot switch because I'm only 17, and my father prefers the trackball mouse, and it's the family computer.

Using a normal wireless optical mouse. Never really liked trackball, found weird. I'm also using a tablet quite alot, mainly for drawing, but I do surf and do stuff except gaming with it too.

Trackball? The last time I tried one of those I had problems with basically everything on the computer. Microsoft Habu all the way.

My friend used a trackball a while back, and everytime I went over and tried to do anything on his computer I would get confused, frustrated and just give up.  He eventually went back to a mouse but while he used it and got used to it he did like it.  He managed to find a track ball dealy with a scroll wheel on it somewhere so I don't think he had many problems with it.

I could never figure the trackballs out.  I tried them a couple of times but they made me feel like screaming.

I couldn't imagine playing a game with one.

I love my trackball!! I think it helps out while gaming, and I don't have to worry about knocking crap over on my desk.

Always set your zooms for page up or down in that case, thats what I do when stuck with a trackball (my spare HOLY CRAP I KILLED MY MOUSE thing).

Actually any key works but default seems page up or down . That or +/-.

I tend to hate trackballs as they feel nasty to me. I have a germ thing.. My stuff has to be clean and I can't clean the inside of the track every hour. Mice are easy, wet wipe and done. Track balls you really gotta get in there and clean em.

I had a trackball for my old pc. It was cool, but you really did had to clean that thing and the rollers cuz they do get dirty quite a bit. I'm happy with my Wireless optical mouse atm though.

That is the exact one I use.  I absolutely Hate a mouse and love my trackball.  Just like I hate traditional Keyboards and love my split ergonomic keyboard.  I can work on the traditional keyboard and mouse though.  I have to use them at work.

my old roomie had gotten me hooked on his trackball. it was optical with a scroll wheel, after i got accustomed to it it was amazing! i was extremely deadly in FPS's, (mostly c.s and U.T ) once you get the hang of it, it becomes much faster and way more accurate than a reg. mouse. so many running/jumping/spinning headshots!! im talkin run, jump, sping, headshot, land running in the original direction!! TRACKBALL FTW!! i hated it at first took me almost a month to start to love it, and you really have to tweak sensitivity to your personal liking. and you can fit so many hot keys on the good track balls. for my rig at home i wont use anything but a trackball.
