Adult MMORPG?!

I had read while surfing through the internet that there were plans to make an adults only mmorpg, i cannot remember the name of the game, and im not sure where i read it. But i have to say that it seems alot of games are moving to this genre to such as Leisure suit larry, Singles flirt up your life, and playboy mansion i dont think i would purchase any of these games but just wondering what your thoughts on this are.

Actually I remember seeing this... Stumbled upon the homepage for it once, don't remember the name or link, but it was an actual adults only, XXX mmorpg. The skills were sex related and all that, really freaky and scary.

Although filled with plenty of other "content"..Second Life has quite a bit of adult content. I believe you have to be 18 to play the gamee. Either way there is a ton of sex type images, outfits, clubs, activities in that game..

I simply cannot imagine what it would be like to take all of the 14 year olds from every other game, and give them adult content to play with.... NOBODY playing would be over 18.
On the other hand, maybe it's a good idea - it would keem them out of the games I want to play.

huh? Europeans are fare less bothered by sex and the "morality" of movies and adult content than Americans. In fact, they are far more liberal than Americans in just about every way. If anything the FCC would be the ones to regulate the gaming industry, not the european market.

I would agree that saying something is adult-oriented does not mean that it should be sex-centric. Additionally, thinking of games as being exclusively for young teens and children perpetuates a myth that may have been partially true at one time but is certainly not any longer.

When I first saw this thread I didn't think the topic would be centered around sexual content in an MMORPG, but more about the graphic accuracy to real life. Lets say you go hunt a monster as in any other MMORPG, but when you finally kill this monster you actually are witness to the creatures entrails spill about the ground as you slice it's belly open for all to see.
Or like in Second Life where its more down to earth and filled with adult content, in whatever form it happens to be in, because thats how it is in real life just in a virtual form.
I belive that a very successful and widely popular MMORPG with hoards of Adult and Sexual content would be very hurtful to the Integrity of MMORPGs and Online Video Gamers everywhere, because a lot of people would just belive that since someone made a game like that would just prove that were are all just a bunch of nerdy Pervs.

The only type of "graphic" nature, and adult content I'd want to see is realistic violence. You have a mace. And pound somone in the head with it. I want to see realism, which would include their skull being smashed in and like a bloodied face, etc. Chopping off limbs. Slashing off heads. Etc. Etc. And then of course maybe some type of pipe-weed or whatnot, ale, wine, etc. Intoxication.
I'd blow up the MMRPG industry if they started making sex games. That'd just be pathetic.

"adult" dosn't have to be sex related... You can have a game with fluffly pink bunnys and still act mature.
Leisure suit larry, Singles flirt up your life, and playboy mansion content in a mmorpg would be SO MUCH WORSE then dealing with some annoying kids. No one would be mature in a mmorpg like that, if it has sexual content its instantly going to have snickering little kids laughing and being imature about it. Any video game with sex in it is STUPID and if you play it you need to be taken away and killed.
On the other hand I would love to see more drugs and violence in games. I want to shoot out someones legs, and have them beg for their life. I want to see someone run away for once in fear. I want to hear bones break. If your going to base a game on killing people might aswell make it realistic

wow, i never thought anyone would even think of releasing an adult only game let along mmorpg. I wouldn't mind trying it out jus for kicks, wonder if u would have the option of biting while giving head?
Jus goes to show that the game would never be taken seriously. I mean, no real gamer could take it seriously. Although for all the sexually frustrated men out there, it could be a dream come true, jus pity the fool who finds out all the 'chics' that they've been shagging r middle aged men.

Who the hell are you to say something like that? Just because sex is in a game doesn't mean the game has to be sex-centric as I have stated before. I can think of quite a few games that I've played that have involved sex to some extent (Neverwinter Nights, Gothic II, etc.) but not a single one of them had sex or even sexuality as the foundation upon which the game was built.
Additionally, The Sims was probably the game I've played that has come the closest to having sex as a core element of game-play. However, even in this game it is done with tongue-in-cheek humor without becoming offensive. Quite the contrary, it was highly addictive and there are a large number of folks who played the game and would attest to this.
Your statement on the other hand is far more offensive than anything I've encountered in any of these games. Hopefully it was meant to be sarcastic and judging from the brutish, explicit tone of your second paragraph it may well have been.
Theres always that old phrase that says "sex sells" that may be true in many cases but in this case I think it's way wrong.
A game where sex is the primary attribute will not be very fun in the long run. Especially when its going to be a MMO. Since MMo's usually have the player playing for longs periods of time.
You're going to get bored of it real quick. Maybe to the average pervert a game that involves lots of sex will be fun, but I don't think it will have them playing it over and over again, likes MMO's and games should have you do.

An Adult MMORPG would most likely have only male players, who for the most part lack the stamina to stay logged on for any lengthy period of time, while fooling themselves that they are doing anything but cybering with other pathetic men.
For those of you who didn't understand my meaning, I'm saying that I think the idea of an adult MMORPG is just kinda pathetic.

When I say someone should be killed for playing a game with sex in it I don't mean Neverwinter or the sims kind of sexual content... I mean Leisure suit larry. Also I don't really mean the person should be killed, was joking. I just think that Leisure suit larry style games are very lame and a bad idea.
btw. I would like to say NwN is one of the greatest online games out there.
