Looking for a combination

zspawnzspawn Member Posts: 410

Hey guys,

I currently play WoW on weekends to keep contact with some RL m8s that don't wanna change games but due to my studies I got a lot of free time on weekdays and I am looking for a new game to play then.

I've tried LOTRO, VG, EQ2, SWG, Matrix Online, Guild Wars...

I was thinking to either go WoW + Lotro (however a lot of ppl say it gets boring later on...)

or

spend some money and get the station access pass so I can play EQ2/VG/SWG and MXO.

However I'm wondering if the $30 are well spent...

I did like EQ2 and I enjoy VG here and there however the question remains if I can play more than one MMO at the same time (don't count WoW in :P)

So... WoW + Station access pass or WoW + Lotro ?

Best combo for a gamer ? :)

Discuss :)

There's not much advice that can be given here; the only game I can think of that "stacks" super well with others is EVE, otherwise it's just your preferences :)

My favorite combo is City of Heroes and Everquest II.  I can't really stack two fantasy-themed games - I get tired of fighting the same crap all the time, and most take a lot of commitment.  EQ2 is complex and varied, and I have to play it for a few hours to feel like I've accomplished something.  When I have a lot of time, and feel like "settling in," I'll play EQ2. When I don't have a lot of time, and just want to dive in and beat stuff up, I play CoH.

Yeah I got COH as well but that will sum up to a quite significant amount of $$$ per month for subscriptions :P

    WoW + COH + EQ2

However it might be a better idea to go for this rather than WoW + Station Pass (for EQ2 + MXO for example)

If you already have VG, EQ2, MXO and SWG I really don't think you can go wrong with the station pass. If you no longer like the games, that's obviously a major downside. But if you're looking for options for something else to play, I would think the station pass is your best bet.

Nop I don't have any SOE games atm.

    Preordered EQ2 RoK All-in-one tho.

I am not sure if someone can play EQ2 + SWG + MXO at the same time tbh.

Ok MXO is not that demanding maybe and its more about fooling around with friends and all about SWG from what I saw from trial is a vast game...

Atm I'm going for a WOW for PVP + EQ2 for PVE combo with RF Online (since it's free and a bit non demanding to play...just login and spam monsters :P)

Ah, when you said you had tried them I made the assumption that you had purchased.

If that's the case, I would stick with what you have. WoW and EQ2 are more than enough to keep you busy, and there's enough free games out there like RFonline to keep you busy I would think.

Yep that's my thought exactly atm.

BTW since I won't get Station Pass...any ideas if the adventure packs are worth buying ?

Actually, the RoK all-in-one pack is going to include all three adventure packs as well as the expansions (stated on the official site), so save your money. :D

    GREAT :D

I thought it was just EQ2 + all the expansions but not the adventure packs :)

WoW + Lotro is not a good idea ... im not saying its a bad game or anything, they're just similiar.

    I suggest WoW + Fury ...

Or you could get the station pass, with which u get a bunch of stupid games (other than EQ i would guess...)

Well I'm only playing WoW during weekends so I can hook up with my RL m8s studyin in all different countries.

We are mainly going to PvP (BGs + Arena) together and perhaps throw in the casual Karazhan or Zul'Aman raid. Other than that, WoW simply has nothing more to do...Quests are a joke and just a good source of money income (but I managed to save quite a lot of money throughout the year playing) so...

The choice was between EQ2 or Lotro for playing casually leveling up, doing quests etc. Apparently EQ2 wins, hands down :)

I was considering Station Pass so I could also buy something like SWG and MXO and play those sometime if I feel like it however they don't really feel that different to justify the extra 15$...

So at this point I'm decided to play WoW the way I mentioned, I preordered EQ2 RoK already and considering either:

COH (which I already have just account is frozen)

    or

RF Online (RFO has the advantage of being free...)

or even Guild Wars (which I also have - Prophecies + Nightfall however never got into it).

I'm also thinking about Fury since it looks good and you can play without any fee if you wish.

WoW + EQ2 is approx 30$ and If I go with RFO or GW there's no added cost thus making them very attractive as choices :P
