I'm assuming the EU is fully prepared to give up 26 seats in the United Nations and at least one of their two Security Council vetoes if they keep on federalizing like this.
I don't know...I doubt this is the last we'll hear of this situation. I can just see this blowing up in their faces. The people of Europe cannot possibly be that big of sheep...or maybe they can.

Sigh... that's so dis-heartening. Where are the riots? where are the protest? My god where are the people with pitchforks and torches rushing the white house lawn? Have we become so lobotomized by reality TV and Paris Hilton that we no longer have the fortitude to fight back? What has happened to us? I remember being told by my grandfolks of our almost legendary american pride and our almost legendary sense of duty to our PEOPLE and to our CONSTITUTION, and not to our leaders. Ahh, well, in that case, media brainwashing comes to mind, as well as the systematic destruction of our educational system (and nobody here can tell me this isn't true. On one hand I've seen all the political films like Zeitgeist and the others about the American debt system and I agree that there's been a massive amount of corruption and it only continues. On the other hand I like the idea of a final realization of a world power because we're all so divided in this day and age and we need a re-emergence of leadership to give the world new priorities instead of endless profiteering through war.
Unfortunately the international elite are not interested in the greater good that would come as a result of a one world power, so I am forced to look at their quest through eyes of dismay.
Now as to why nobody is revolting. Have you even read the news lately? Our country is on the verge of collapse, our liberties have been stolen from us by those who cheated their way into power. The very programmer of the voting machines has testified. Bush has threatened to veto if water boarding is proclaimed as torture. Our rights as citizens, our constitution are being destroyed as each day passes. It's quite sickening.
The problem is that most think we're at rock bottom now. I've got news for you, we're not, the moment Hillary steps into power she'll be continuing this quest for global power and control. Her husband did it, what's to say she wont. And remember, there's no other person running for president that owes more favors to lobbyists and high paying corporations than the lady in blue. You think she's going to bring a new wave of freedom and democracy, think again, the eradication of our rights have only just begun.
If you speak out in this day and age you can legally be whisked away without reason, detained indefinitely, tortured to the privatized soldier's sadistic liking, without lawyer representation, without telling your family, all because you're labeled a terrorist. That's why the educated aren't rebelling, they're afraid.
We're living in a tyrannical state of sheep and wolves. Every so often the black sheep are plucked from the crowd and you never hear from them again. The funny thing is that we've been warned and we still take no action. One of the above poster's signature even speaks loudly of a television portrayal of what may very well become our reality.
I want to do more, I want to take up arms and take back my country, but I am one person. I need my brothers to step in line and join in the cause. For now I will continue to do what I can by spreading word of the two people running for president that are denied in every arena. Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, the two people with actual integrity who speak truth to power. So the next time you see a motorcyclist racing by you on the freeway with a *Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich '08* vinyl sticker, you'll know it's me doing my part to help educate the masses.

I can add one reason for that. Divide and conquer.
Affirmative action, for one. What was it's "stated" goal? To provide minorities with a boost, to give them a better chance of becoming employed and preventing business owners from discrimination against someone because of their skin color.
Now, what was the real result of affirmative action? Resentment against minorities for being given jobs BECAUSE of their color, instead of their qualifications.
And it's not a race issue, it's apeople issue. "United we stand, divided we fall". Divide and conquer.
I use affirmative action as only one of many things that have been done to keep our population fighting amongst each other, instead of standing together.
We replaced John F. Kennedy with politicians, Martin Luther King with Al Sharpton and Louis Farakhan.
If you can keep your populace so concentrated on the "evils" and "wrongdoings" of the other races/nationalities of that populace, you can effectively prevent them from ever presenting a united front against you.
Keep the stereotypes and generalizations fresh in everyones mind at all times.

If we cannot all come together as a PEOPLE, not a RACE, we will all be slaves. Whether our prisons are crystal palaces or grimy gutters, in the end it's still a prison.

Newsflash. During Reagans Presidency, a deal was struck with Russia. I remember watching Reagan sign the deal on t.v. In fact, I remember it well because my city, Fresno, Ca., was named a "sister city" to another city in Russia, so that in the event of nuclear war the "sister cities" would be spared. The deal signed made effective that in the event of martial law, Russian soldiers would swap places with U.S. soldiers, thereby preventing soldiers from having to, or refusing to, take action on their own people.
That agreement, as far as I know, was never dissolved.
