I agree the graphics are a little cartoonish, and it would be nice to have a more realistic feel. The animations are most likely scaled down in the beta to lesson the stress on the already stress/beta test. Gameplay wise, no worries it'll be on the money.

I also think that sometimes graphics need to take a cut in order to produce a decent mmo. I tried Vanguard recently, and though I have a VERY decent computer, the graphics still took a heavy toll and my computer could hardly run them effectively. (This was after the recent update which was supposed to make it run even smoother, which isn't saying much.)

I don't think its the graphics that make that game run poorly lol. But I agree if the gameplay suffers then cut the graphics if need be. I just think they could be better.

Just go back and read my clear exlpanation of the look of the models as a one reason. Which, last I checked was a real reason.
Bland environment.
Bland colors.
Crappy models.
Weak textures.

and I accepted the fact that he doesn't like the graphics, I was just trying to make sense of his reasoning. And it didn't make any sense, and still doesn't. If he doesn't like the style, sure fine. I was just curious to see if I could get any REAL reasons, but apparently not!
Just go back and read my clear exlpanation of the look of the models as a one reason. Which, last I checked was a real reason.Bland environment.
Bland colors.
Crappy models.
Weak textures.
Poor animations.
All of these are reasons that I have in essence listed. But - sense you just want to argue it, what's the point?

I think those points aren't valid with the one dwarf in the tavern screenshot I provided earlier. the game isn't all brown. It has colors but it isn't super ultra saturated like WoW. The textures are painted and meticulously detailed, and I still don't see where the "cartoony" comment came from.
Like I said from the beginning though, I have no say about the animations. Never seen enough of them to really form an opinion

Look at the grass (or is it just green vomit) on the stone. Look at the lack of detail on the face of the model. Look at the Castle textures. Look at the hands and bottom of the model. All garbage. As for your obsessions with EQ2 - I'll ask you two to get a room.
If you'd take a moment to look at the details in the faces, even the horribly created one you've been so proud to make an example out of, I think you'll see that, when zooming out and looking at just the faces themselves, the EQ2 one does indeed have better graphics. (Not more realistic, better)

and like I said before, technology does not make a good looking game. Artists do. Unless you're one of those sad people who freaks out over specular lighting and realistic water effects

There is no hate only you banging your head against the wall of sanity trying to get out. I tried to stop this argument 8 posts ago - you wouldn't let it die. So run little one run far and fast.
I guess you missed where I said I hope the game is good and gameplay is great and that the beta is not the final look etc etc.

I agree with you asimof, I actually like the WAR ones better. I'm merely saying that the EQ2 graphics are, technically, better, which is kind of what this argument was about???
What about the idea that WAR is being compared to EQ2 from 2004? Doesn't that speak to what I am saying about the graphics?
