LF F2P for newbie Wife

sschruppsschrupp Member UncommonPosts: 693

I want to try and get my wife addicted to MMORPGs so that I can play more... hehehe. She's kind of afraid of computers, and gives up easily if a game is complex. So I'm looking for something that's just plain fun right off the bat (short attention span of course), and appealing visually to a woman in that stereotypical way (cartoony, cutsie). I suppose the cartoony, cutsie bit isn't absolutley necessary but I figured it would help her get into it rather than the typical "cool" style graphics.

I figure once she gets used to playing one game I can eventually broaden her horizons a bit. I downloaded FairyLand to see what that was like and it seemed like it took way too long to have any fun. WoW would actually do the trick I bet, but I don't want to waste the money to buy her a box and then two accounts for us if she doesn't like it.

I really should be shot for saying this, but i would try her on Maple Story.  It's definately not my type of game, but I had a female friend who loved playing it.  If she is one of those who likes pets, there are a ton of games out there.  Eudemons is light on graphics, heavier on stat growth.  Monster & Me is heavier on graphics, but i'm not sure much more about it, didn't play it heavily.

sorry but gonna be honest that game is a little bit difficult to learn, was a bit hard getting used to playing 3 characters at once and when I played the game the game had a delay in everything you did, it wasn't lag cause everyone was getting it and it wasn't like choppy or anything, not sure if the delay in the game is still there but anything is worth a shot :)

She will love wow , everyone does and it sure is worth playing for a while plus you can have fun together in that game. I would say give it a go on WoW.

Runescape would be a good choice as well. I've known a number of noob wives/families that started out on that game.

WoW will be better for her to start from.

Wow has a free trial. Get it for her and you and give it a try. Its definitely the best bet.

Yeah I believe I'll have her try out the WoW trial. I know my step-son would really appreciate it as well since a couple of his friends play it. I guess it's been long enough since I played to have another go at it for a while.. heh.

Hmm just a suggestion why not Second Life?

Might be a good place to introduce someone to mmorpgs.

Still what you could is start a new character at the same time and lvl up together in any online game you might feel attracted to or to one F2P game.

WoW 2 weeks free trial might also be a good choice.
